Bon jeudi!
Good Thursday morning!☀️ Here is my first #coffeealternative for the days when you don’t want to cook but also don’t want to eat tones of artificial sugars. These are two new vegan options #starbucks added to its menu!
The cold brew plant-based protein coffee has almond butter and almond milk in it. It has pea and brown rice protein and is sweetened with a banana and dates blend!
The sprouted grains bagel is simply delicious with the guacamole. 🥑

It’s been 21 DAYS without coffee ☕️... (I never thought I’d ever say that).
I used to go to sleep thinking about coffee the next morning... I even added all.the.things to it, MCT, collagen, ghee... I’ve had coffee daily since University days (I’m talking 15 years)... I love the taste, aroma, the ritual, the conversations had over a cup and since kids, the fact that it was MY cup of deliciousness that they never bugged me for.
My body has been screaming at me for the last 6 months. I’d been continually feeling worse, not better, my anxiety was becoming almost unmanageable, I was short and snapping at the kids all the time, I wasn’t sleeping well, my thyroid/adrenals were tanking.
COFFEE is a small piece of the puzzle but it’s made a HUGE impact for me not starting my day buzzing on coffee. And I can totally say that I don’t miss those feelings of heightened anxiety, rage, dependency and shitty sleep.
I’m starting a 4 week protocol on Monday to give my hormones a total reset and it means continued coffee free days for me.
I’ll be sharing more as I go here and on my stories as well as a collab blog on kicking my coffee habit with some coffee alternative recipes.
Jump on my email list by tonight for all the details and if you want to join me in the next four weeks. I’ll be checking in weekly through my journey. Join me mama! (Link in profile 👆🏻 Dr. Gillian’s mama tips)
I’m up early this morning with a teething baby. And since I have to be up in an hour anyway, I’m enjoying my silence. .
I am all about non toxic products. This early morning, as the sun rises, I can’t stop thinking about my new non toxic tumbler. .
It is rare these days if I get an opportunity to go to a coffee shop alone. .
But, a few days ago, I had a trusted friend watching my two kiddos while I snuck away to my local, small town coffee shop and filled up on some decaf Americano with my new @gosiliproducts tumbler! I got it in my @mightynest this month!
I am loving this product and use it almost daily. .
Super easy to clean, mold and mildew resistant (thanks silicone!), and best of all, non toxic! .
You better grab yourself one of these if you’re on the go much, or even if you’re not, and you’re like me and you love to have a daily “drink.” (Not alcohol here.... 😂)
I put my @piquetea in it when I am on the way to my kids swim lessons every morning. .
I take it to the coffee shop for my fill up of decaf coffee. .
And I use it for some morning @dandyblend over ice .
The possibilities are endless!
I’m ready to face the day, thanks to this awesome product. .
Whether it’s Jiu-Jitsu or fantasy football draft, a natural byproduct of physical or mental exertion is stress. Stress causes inflammation and poorly handled inflammation causes bad things. Turmeric has been used as a powerful anti-inflammatory in Chinese and Indian medicine for millennia so when it applied to be a part of mud we weren’t surprised when it made the cut. Drink mud and know turmeric has got your back.

Nice winter warmer....🌧☃
New flavour called Lunar Latte, great for before bed filled with vanilla, passionflower, chamomile, lavender buds and more. Beautiful peaceful and stress relief blend.
I do my best to drink one cup of coffee a day and that’s in the morning after my warm lemon water, but here lately I’ve been craving a cup of joe in the evening so I figured, why not make an herbal latte minus the coffee beans? Herbal coffees are not unheard of, but I wanted to share a recipe that is a great go to if you’re also in the same dilemma as me and want something rich, bitter and creamy! ✨ (& full of nutrients)
Hibiscus Tea Latte 🌺
• 1 tbs Dried Hibiscus
• 1 tsp Dried Ginger Root
• 1/2 tsp Ashwagandha Powder
• 1 Clove Bud
• 1 cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk
• Local Organic Honey
Begin by combining all of your herbs besides your ashwagandha in a mortar and pestle and bruise them. Then put them in a kettle or steeper and pour 170 degree water over the herbs and steep for 20 minutes. With 5 minutes remaining warm up your almond milk on the stove. Once everything is steeped/strained and warmed, pour everything into a blender to easily froth into a latte. Pour into a cup and stir in your ashwaghanda powder. Drizzle with honey to taste.
Mmm mmm!! 😋
Are you going to try this?!? Let me know!
Healthy Substitutes for Coffee
1. Lemon Water
Lemon is excellent for you and can help you wake up in the morning without caffeine! Lemon water is high in vitamin C, can help with weight loss, digestion and immune function and it helps you hydrate first thing in the morning so your body can eliminate cellular waste.
2. Coconut Water
Coconut water is amazing for hydration as it is naturally high in electrolytes which helps keep the body hydrated. It’s naturally sweet too for those who like to have their coffee sweeter.. ☕️
3. Bone Broth
Homemade or store bought Organic Bone broth is a great replacement for coffee as it’s rich in taste and nutrition. It doesn’t taste like coffee but it is great as a warm drink, it is comforting and has some amazing health benefits (boosts immune system, alleviates joint pain as it is high in collagen and encourages healthy skin and hair)
4. Dandelion root tea
It is amazing for the liver and for digestion and has a comforting earthy taste.
Looking for an alternative to morning coffee? An herbal fruit tea is easy to make and customize to your taste. With a little experimenting you can find your perfect blend. This cup of tea: Dried Chamomile Flowers, Dried Blueberries and Elderberries, Red Clover Buds, Green Tea Powder and a few drops of Berry or Orange flavored stevia for a hint of sweetness. #chamomilelane#chamomilelanekitchen#coffeealternative#herbaltea#chamomiletea
I’m back to brewing this beautiful blend after a brief hiatus because I was avoiding high FODMAP foods for a bit. 🔹
So, it’s suddenly time to try and see what symptoms, if any, arise after sipping my missed delicious drink. Since the tests so far seemed satisfactory, I’m excited to enjoy this elixir, again. 🔹
Bottoms up baby! I’ve been barred from this beverage for far too long. #coffee#tea#coffeealternative#adaptogens#foodismedicine#koffee#drinks#yummy#momlife
Hot lemon water vs coffee! Which will you choose for your morning drank? Or rather which do you intuitively KNOW you should choose?
There are several reasons hot lemon water in the morning is the bomb for your beautiful body.
Reason #1 . Antioxidants and Collagen Building. It fights free radical damage, keeping your skin more plump and wrinkle free and gives that healthy after the spa "glow."
Also getting vitamin C from your lemon water also keeps the body producing collagen. In one study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, regularly consuming vitamin C led to younger-looking skin.
Reason #2 . Natural Energy Booster
Yep you can pass on that morning cup of joe today, because guess what you won't need it once you start your routine of daily lemon water. It can effectively boost energy levels without the caffeine crash.
How? When negatively charged ions reach your digestive tract (like those found in lemons), the result is a natural boost in energy levels.
Just the scent of a lemon has been found to reduce stress levels and help improve mood. NOW it makes sense that my neurotic self can NOT get enough of lemon! I'm obsessed with it.
Reason #3 . Alkalinize!
Although lemons are considered acidic, they actually have an alkalizing effect in the body. (coffee is the opposite-it has an acidic effect on the body).
The research shows that disease thrives in an acidic physiological environment. Which most people have due to the common western diet and lifestyle. When you begin to alkalinize and raise your pH, you drastically lower your risk for chromic diseases and even cancer.
Reason # 4. Liver and Glandular Support.
Lemon juice is similar to the digestive juices found in the stomach so it gets the liver producing more bile. Also research has shown that the citric acid found in lemon water protects liver function and its natural detoxification pathways.
So there you have it. You may want to skip coffee this morning or give it a try. Now I'm not coffee hater but I treat coffee like I treat alcohol. It should not be a staple is all because it's acidifying, dehydrating and hard on the organs.

a lil’ sunday morning matcha 🍵✨ if you’re looking to cut back on coffee, but still want the pick-me-up effects that it brings, then matcha is your perfect alternative! Matcha tea is very high in antioxidants (137 times more than regular green tea!), amino acids, and chlorophyll. Of the amino acids contained in matcha, L-theanine is the most prevalent and is known to have a relaxing effect on the mind and body.
The subtle caffeine content in matcha also helps with focus—it slowly absorbs into your system so you don’t get that big spike that a cup of coffee might cause.
soooo DRINK UP! 🤩🍵
