The final results of my hard work! My childhood dream come true ✨🦄💖
Fun fact: her final color was supposed to be all black! During the final firing the heat affected the glaze in a weird way and gave her this final look. The second I saw her I realized that this firing mishap was meant to be; she reminds me of unicorns seen in many medieval tapestries, many of which I distinctly remember from one of my favorite childhood movies: “The Last Unicorn”.
She was such a joy to make in my ceramic class, thank you Professor Alexis Grinbold ❤️
My lovely unicorn will be on display at the @marksartcenter found at @collegeofthedesert from November 26, 2018 to December 13, 2018.
This was something fun we did in our Figure Drawing Class of College of the Desert! Each frame was drawn by a different student, 10 minutes each frame, on white paper with black charcoal pencils.
The video was created by my teacher, professor Yuki Toyooka Smith (@yukitoyart ); she has given the students permission to repost this and share. The model’s given name is Emma.
Not all of my frames were used, but they are added here if you are interested.

“Taking Flight” (in progress shots 5/5)
This was the first dragon based piece I tackled in my ceramic sculpting class towards the beginning of the semester! This is it complete (March 22 2018)❤️ He’s ready for flight! I used a shiny gold marker for extra scales and the eyes, and the wing warped slightly while firing, but other than that it came out better than expected! For my first ceramic dragon, I’d say it came out great; I’m very proud ❤️#dragon#dragons#ceramic#ceramics#ceramicsculpture#codstudioart#collegeofthedesert#ambrielstyvehector#art#wip
Here are three of my favorite art pieces from the COD student exhibition, plus my own painting. I would like to thank the Marks Art Center once again for hosting my work. #art#painting#paintings#codstudioart
In my Intermediate Design and Color course we had to do a "Color as Camoflage" assignment last month. We had to pick an image from a magazine, crop it, cover a small part of the image with a piece of cardboard or wood and paint exactly what that part of the image looked like on the object. In my case, I chose this picture from this month's Game Informer magazine (they release the issues weeks in advance) because I liked it and I still do. Another reason why I picked this image was to celebrate the release of Super Mario Odyssey. I don't have a Nintendo Switch yet but I want to play this game. I'll buy a Switch and the game and play it someday - it looks beautiful and fun. Anyway, here's my process of making this art piece in 10 images. Enjoy. #art#artwork#coloranddesign#intermediatecoloranddesign#codstudioart#gameinformer#marioodyssey#supermarioodyssey#nintendoswitch#nintendo
