The Oracle is an interactive installation that brings the Yi Jing, an ancient Chinese divination tool to life, giving participants a custom reading through animations and music in an immersive sculpture. This project is a collaboration between multi-sensory artists Louis Chinn and missTANGQ, featuring creative coder Tiffany Ta.
The Yi Jing is the oldest recorded text of divination dating back 6,000 years. Amongst its many applications, it gives the subject a deeper understanding of the present moment through wisdom based on cycles of change and elements in nature.
As Chinese-Americans, we bridge eastern traditions with new forms of artistic media that foster intercultural dialogue. We are passionate about integrating ancient and modern technology to help heal our connection to nature, the self and each other. —————————————

Nicola Hutchinson is a textile student @ncad_dublin and received a Student Professional Development support from #FutureMakers2018 “Numbers are thought to be one of the most accurate and objective ways to measure essentially anything and in China the government aims to launch its Social Credit System in 2020 that will monitor and evaluate human activity as either positive and negative and distill this into a single number. This was the starting point of my collection. I thought about how our lives are present online. We can be more present in our online life and the rating systems and than our real one. My collection is aimed at a rejection of this kind of lifestyle.” #textiles#design#craft#code#wearable#technology#lifestyle
