I really don’t know what took me so long to try this bar. I’ve loved nearly every @amanochocolate bar I’ve tried, but for some reason I was hesitant to try this one. 🤷🏻♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The hesitation was completely unnecessary. Cardamom Black Pepper is a beautifully crafted chocolate with floral aromas of bright citrus and lavender. 🌸 🍊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I thought the pepper would overwhelm, but the experience was reminiscent of a cup of Earl Grey with sugar crystals suspended throughout. Crunching on those sugary bits released a sweet but warm peppery flavor that created just the right touch of warmth against the bright, citrusy chocolate 🍫 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It's said too readily, but it was honestly a privilege to attend @ellacantalondon first birthday celebrations. Chef @lamarthaortiz is a huge inspiration for me - a fiercely strong, passionate, wise, generous and phenomenal chef who is proud of Mexico, its history and its food. She has inspired and helped me with my next book #Cocoa , for which I am very grateful. For Martha, Mexican food is more than just delicious things to eat: it's history and politics and geography and colour, and she expresses this in each of her plates. Huge respect and thanks. Fantastic to see @sazlawrence again who shares my love of magical Mexico.

Time for some more unusual fruit. Never had this one before. #cacao . The white flesh surrounds the seeds which are used to make #cocoa and #chocolate . Surprisingly, the pulp tastes citrusy with some pineapple and banana undertones. Sweet. Sorta like a tropical fruit/lime jolly rancher. #rarefruit#tropicalfruit . Nectarine for pod scale.
