While we were first annoyed by how much this concoction looks like our last one, they couldn’t have been more different. The last is a sour focused on citrus, while this is a flip focused on nuttiness. And the differences don’t stop there....
▪️1.5oz Double Almond Infused @drinkhighwest Vodka 7000
▪️.5oz @liquidalchemist Orgeat
▪️.25oz Unsweetened Almond Milk
▪️Whole Egg 🥚
▪️Dash #feebrothers Black Walnut
▪️Dash @elguapobitters Pecan & Chicory ☕️
Place all ingredients in shaker and reverse dry shake. Pour into coupe glass, garnish with candied Pecan.
And what does double almond infused mean? Well, first we took the High West Vodka 7000 and had it sit in a jar with almond butter. After a few weeks we strained it and placed in a clean jar. We then took the almond butter fat and fat washed the mixture a second time for about a week. Froze the final product, removed the fat, and ended up with a strangely yellow and milky vodka.
With a base like this, you can now see why we would try to use vodka for a nut-forward #flip .
The final mixture was velvety smooth with enough sweetness to make it the perfect dessert sipper for an appetite that has yet to be quenched.
