On this dreary rainy day, here’s a touch of colors, sun, and life your way from the most vibrant, colorful, and charming place I’ve ever visited, the one and only Positano! What are you all up to on this rainy day?
My sophomore year of college I REALLY took control of my weight. ((Notice...I said weight, not health!) I started eating smaller fairly healthy meals. I started swimming two hours a day AT LEAST 5 days a week. And let’s be honest...it worked...SHORT TERM.
The tiny meals were neither sustainable, nor enjoyable for me. When I started taking more credit hours the next semester, I didn’t have 10+ hours to swim.
I tried my best to maintain this weight, but gained 20 pounds (all I lost PLUS 10!) over the next 6 months! Then my anxiety got BAD—weight gain plus stress of life!! College is tough y’all. People constantly told me they would be the best days of my life. Not gonna lie, that made it even more stressful, because I really wasn’t all that happy. 🤦🏼♀️ (If you’re in college and unhappy, fear not, I’ve been happier after!)! But back to those anxiety meds. They put me on Paxil which is apparently now well known for causing weight gain...I gained 40 pounds in 4 months when I started taking it. While working on a degree in nutrition. I felt so defeated.
Thank goodness I’ve found something better. A meal plan that allows me to eat enough to feel satisfied and enjoy treats. And a fitness plan that will help me reach my goals in a total of 2 hours a week. THIS is sustainable. THIS I can do forever.
Today I realized that I’m 29 pounds away from that picture at age 19 on the left...and that October will be the 10 year anniversary of it being taken. So here I am, a 29 year old mother of 3, shooting for her lowest weight in a decade. #30before30
