A memory popped up in my photos this week. It was the day that I decided we probably should start preparing for the baby we would have in 8 weeks time.
I remember feeling so overwhelmed by the task. The room that was to be her nursery was FULL of stuff. I would often keep the door shut because, ‘out of sight, out of mind,’ right?
It’s now that I think back on it, my stuff owned me. My mindset now tells me that I own the stuff. #minimalistmindset
This was the closet in F*R*I*E*N*D*S that Chandler had to open by removing the hinges as it was locked and never meant to be seen. Up until that point you would never assume she had a jumbled mess of a closet as perfectionist Monica had every thing in her apartment perfectly organized even having the mugs numbered, the photos cross-referenced on a chart, and the ribbon drawer coordinated. The "Monica" closet is a classic example of paralyzing perfectionism. Until we can create a perfect system for the items that don't fit into an existing place in our home, we can stash the items somewhere "unseen" until we plan to a T how we will set up a system for these items. But, as perfectionists, that "unseen" closet can still drive us nuts hoping we won't be horrifyingly discovered to be less than perfect 😨😨😨 Chances are, because you haven't wanted to face that closet in a while, there are some things in there that you haven't used and will never use. Let's laugh at ourselves that it's okay to be imperfect and bless some people who could use these items.

Do any of you do power hour? Do you it daily? What all do you do in this hour? Which time time ofthe day do you usually do it?
This is one of those things I made a habit to do it daily, power hour means each day you spend a full hour cleaning your home. I have read somewhere it takes an hour daily just to keep your house cean so it doesntget out of control. I do mineusually in the evening, first of all I am not a morning person at all I only do stuff in the morning that really have to get done or if I have errands I get those done. Evening is thetime I get my crazy energy I have no idea why and I start the power in this hourI usually wash all of the dishes, clean the dining area, clean the living room a.k.a play room, vaccum everything, mop all of the floors, put away clean laundry, get everyones clothes stuff ready for the next day and usually do a quick bathroom check. I have learned that this power in the evening gives me more of a motivation to get up in the morning because the houselooks neat and I just feel at peace and relaxed. During the day I just kind of pick up stuff and do little things here and there or if I have time just get a littleclutterfree project in. So how do you keep things under control?let me know in the comments 😉😉
Today, my goal is to get my fabric unpacked and sorted. I'm finally going to do it - I'm getting rid of all the little scraps that do nothing for me but weigh me down! Once that’s done I think I might go sell some fabric on EBay. Is that even still a thing?
We have lived in our new house for 20 months. 😱 TWENTY months and I'm just now getting to my craft space and every little organization project I feel like 100 pounds is lifted from my shoulders.
My overall goal for my home has been minimizing. The back of my van is loaded with donation stuff from my closet (buh-bye anything that's not comfortable 😆) and that was hard, but this going through my craft stuff has got me stressin' over here....#attachmentissues#organization#becomingminimal#homeorganization#minimalist#beautyinsimpicity#clutterfree#keepitsimple#learnminimalism#simplify

Can we talk about #Clutter and a #smallhouse ?
Oh... and Christmas is coming to add to all that clutter!
The newest craze all around is #minimalism#decluttering and #livingsmall
But it seems all of that goes out the window when Christmas comes around.
I can’t say I’m on board with any of those crazes, but I live in a small house and nanny 2-3 kids in my small home.
At the height of my day, my 1000 sq foot home is filled with :
5-8 people and all the noise,
more mess than I'd like you to see (But here's some of the realness of it at it's best (Cleaned yesterday!) #momlife#messylife#realmom
mess mess and more mess
and clutter that comes with it.
I wouldn’t change a thing, but I get a bit afraid come Christmas – because it seems to be a clutter trap.
And before you name me a ba-hum-bug please hear me out…
Can’t we celebrate without all the clutter?

TRUTH IS...Life will push you right to the very edge. And in that moment...you can FALL or you can FLY. The choice is ALWAYS yours. What happens NEXT is too. And it can't be changed or taken back. Just accepted. So fly sis, FLY! #clutterfree
Anyone have a kitchen towel drawer that doesn't open or close easily because it's overflowing? Maybe it's a shallow drawer or perhaps you have 100 towels accumulated over time? Edit out what's stained, torn, or frayed and roll the rest. My clients love this small change in how their kitchens function. You too might just find you have extra space and everything stays neat and tidy. #thedesignedspace#kitchenorganization#kitchentowels#smallchanges
