Wyrd Sisters by Terry Prattchet
Kingdoms wobble, crowns topple and knives flash on the magical Discworld as the statutory three witches meddle in royal politics. The wyrd sisters battle against frightful odds to put the rightful king on the throne. At least, that's what they think... Shakespeare on the discworld? 🤔
A king has died by assassination now a ghost he trys to come to terms with being dead and with not much help from death. Who by the way is my most favourite pop up charecter of the discworld series and now the king is stuck being miserable about what to do next. Mean while a coward is now on the throne with his dictator wife and a little baby the rightful heir to thone is about to interrupt the first meeting of the wyrd sisters coven.
Now the wizards and rincewind have there fans amoung the community but i feel the witchs give them a run for there money (Granny Weatherwax, nanny ogg, Magrat Garlick) are all equally funny and charming and nanny ogg shes just a naughty old lady but shes lovely. They are a great bunch of characters the chemistry is amazing and sparks like a cracker and they are forced into a situation they wanted nothing to do with in the first place dreaded politics.
Now i meantioned Shakespeare in the discworld because it does sort of follow the same tropes I'll be honest im not familiar with all of shakespears works/storys so im not sure what specific story this follows but the familiaritys to the storys i know are there. A lot of incredible things start to spiral out as the storys goes along and as always hits the prefect balance between comedy and story each laugh hits and lands perfectly as always i say monty python in a book. And all the characters you meet are incredibly well written and rememberble. Overall this was another fantastic delve into the discworld and i loved it and i can't wait to delve back in soon!
