#picturesareworthathousandwords and #wordscannotexpresss the #devastation that I have witnessed #firsthand this past week.
As a part of the #animalrecoverymission @arminvestigations #disasterresponnseteam ,we deployed to assist in #searchandrescue efforts of the catastrophic #wildfires in #california .
What we encountered was nothing short of an #apolocolyse
Almost 100,000 acres of the #santamonicanationalpark and #protected areas were charred to the ground, with nothing more than the shambles of structures that once were intact. Ash rubbles that litter the landscape serve as #heartbreaking reminders of the toll that the #wildfires took.
With the increasing rise of #globalwarming and #climatechange , the #wildfires of #woolseyfire and #campfire tore up the coast of #California at windspeeds of 60 mph, averaging a burn rate of the size of a football field every 3 seconds.
Defenseless #wildlife were exposed to the sudden outburst of uncontrollable flames - many unable to outrun the engulfing #flamesoffury and periled😢
Domestic and #farmanimals have flooded vet hospitals as they are pulled from the flames with harrowing stories of survival . Unable to walk with the skin burnt off of their paws, first responders and brave animal rescue teams have been tirelessly carrying the traumatized animals out of the flames.
Tragically, stories began to trickle from #fellow#bootsontheground , #firefighter#allies of animals who were left locked in barns and tied to trees, abandoned, helpless and unable to escape the raging fires. For those animals, is is heartbreaking to even begin to imagine the torture they endured with zero hope or the chance to escape.
Left in its wake, entire towns have been decimated, including the town of #paradise in #Butte County, where hundreds of people have still been unaccounted for. With the strength and endurance of the flames, people were reported to have been discovered contorted and dead in their driveways and inside burning cars. Tragically the #California#wildfires have taken hostage to a rising number of people still missing of 1200.
I cannot begin to thank all of the courageous and dedicated men and women 🙏❤️

Gracia, 20 years old, student. "To me, it's 'healthy' to carry a water bottle around as it helps me to refrain from buying 'fattening' sweet drinks impulsively. Also, refilling bottles are FREE at water coolers, why waste money to buy bottled water!" Nilda, 47 years old, domestic helper. "I use these metal containers to packet food for my employer whenever he needs to work overtime. The containers can keep the food warm so I don't need to stay up to warm up the food!" Georgina, 53 years old, hair stylist and Elson, 55 years old, businessman. "The NTUC outlet at city square mall has a special counter for customers who bring their own bags. We bring our reusable bag for grocery shopping in order to 'skip the queue'." Collectively, the unique motivations of Gracia, Nilda, Georgina and Elson led to a common end result - saving plastics. Find YOUR own motivation to reduce plastic waste today!
On a personal mission this week and next week to only shop at my local fresh food markets here in Cairns @rustysmarkets and @thesourcebulkfoods and to not use any plastics or disposables!! Bring it on 🍏🍈🥦🥒🥑🥝🍐 #sustainableliving
The beautiful ocean home to 80% of life on Earth is getting destroyed by destructing fishing and pollution, 80% of them have been destroyed or degraded and be the leading cause is by us. “Known around the world for our ‘Energiewinde’ and progressive thinking, Germany has now to step up its ambition and needs to finally cut out coal from its energy mix...we are obliged to use our privileges as a leading European country with lots of educational, scientific, engineering, innovations, and financial capacity to step up climate action!” .
Thanks to Nora, one of our delegation members this year, for being our first featured #sign4climate entry. We will be highlighting one climate letter each day leading up to COP, but we need your help! Click the link in our bio to share why you feel your country’s decision makers need to step up their climate action, and we’ll hand them your letter directly at the @unfccc conference in Poland. .
During WYF we have a chance to choose the topics of workshop and forum. One of the topics that I choose is about climate change, I thought as one of the delegates from Indonesia its important for me to know about this topic, which is a couple month ago before I attended this forum Indonesia has a challenge to face about the climate change which has the bad impact in many disasters.
I believe if people has more awareness about this issue and knowing how to face this challenge it will be a good way to solve it, at least a little action can be make it better.
4. Waste ♻️ Our attitude to waste is out of sight, out of mind. We need to be able to process our own recycling and reduce the amount of waste that we’re burying in the ground. We could also be making better use of food scraps by turning them into biochar! Biochar is great for improving soil quality and will also help drawdown 🌱 #puttingtheplanetfirst
Yesterday the smoke from the California fires hung in a haze over Philadelphia, almost 3,000 miles away.
This is climate change, it is real and it is effecting everyone, and without a plan it will only get worse.
Sunrise Movement and Earth Quaker Action Team (EQAT) are both passionate groups of people who believe we have no time to wait to fight climate change. Sunrise is targeting elections and elected officials, while EQAT is pressuring corporations to act outside of the electoral system.
The police arrested members of @sunrisemvmt in @nancypelosi’s office for demanding their leaders protect their planet and their future. But in Philadelphia EQAT had to step in where the law has failed, and stage their own criminal investigation into the crimes of PECO, the electric utility, against the climate and people of #Philadelphia .

Ironic pic, but it felt real nice to see these blue skies today. Particular matter in the city is the lowest it’s been for over 10 days, though still unsafe, and there’s a 90% chance of rain tomorrow!Hoping the rain proves to be a good thing for the folks directly affected by the fire.
Hi everyone! If you would like to connect with me on a personal level, feel free to check out my new page @myspiritualjourney1 . Have a lovely day 😊
Biomimicry is an approach to innovation, taking stratergies and patterns from nature to create sustainable solutions. The goal is to create products, processes and policies that are well adapted to life on earth for the long term. A company called Whalepower is applying principles learned from humpback whales to design wind turbines and increase their efficiency. The great NBA legend kobe bryant refined his shooting technique, watching the movement of a cheetah while it hunts. He treated his legs like a cheetahs tail to give himself balance when shooting. The environment without human presence is self sustaining. If we did not exist it has been suggested that the earth could fully restore after billions of years. The earth doesnt need us to survive, but we do need the earth for our survival. We should be more conscious of how actions in our lives impact the environmemt. I will be applying biomimicry in my businesses & daily life where i can and i implore you all to do the same 😏
The responsibility to care for our planet and one another is our own. We are not victims of this life and we certainly are not powerless in the decisions of what is created and what is destroyed. Our planet is screaming at the top of its lungs to communicate with us. When will we wake up and realize WE are the change we so desperately seek? 🙏🏼 “No matter what the problem, where there is enough love there is a miraculous solution. Wake up each day and say “Love use me”, and your invitation will be immediately accepted. Millions and millions of souls seriously dedicated to love will form a wave of power that changes the world.” ♡ - Marianne Williamson

This week’s topic: Conservation🌳
Despite what some may say, #climatechange and lack of clean energy can ultimately and will ultimately lead to the downfall of humanity. It’s interesting to watch the Floridian Governors race when they talk about the economy, as if it’ll matter when they’re underwater. “Pollution doesn’t respect boundaries.” -David Pakman
This is a global issue that needs worldwide attention. As a Christian, I don’t see how God could be happy with us trashing the earth like a 2 star strip club. It’s not enough for just “America the beautiful” to do its part, we need more and we need it now.🌍
