Happy Monday everyone! Today I’d like to feature the amazing @giftedteacher305 aka Classroom Transformation Extraordinaire! Tanya is an amazing, inspirational, and motivating educator. Her creative instructional ideas make her students excited about coming to class because they know they are not only going to learn in an engaging way, but they are going to feel valued, accepted, and loved. Tanya inspires me every day and if you haven’t checked her out yet, be sure to do so.
Thank you Tanya for being who you are and for being such an amazing person and friend. Hugs!
Last week was jam-packed with a PD day, the aftermath of a sub day, and a variety of other things that made me practice taking a pause to then keep going. See the full video on YouTube. Link to channel in profile. Thanks for watching!
If you don’t already follow @mrsmamallama , you should start. She always has amazing ideas, but I think this may be my favorite! She makes kindness into a spy mission - I mean seriously, who can’t get behind that?!?! And the spy worksheet is only $1 on her TPT page. Link is in her bio.
Follow @oneteetwotees for more fun classroom ideas 🍎❤️
I asked this question on my stories a couple of days ago and had over 200 responses so I wasn’t able to share them all so I thought I should repost the question on here so people can see everyone’s answers 😀 So interesting to see the variance... 🙃 How many hours of non-contact time do you get per week? Write how many hours, what grade you teach and where you live. For me it’s 2 hours per week, in Prep, Brisbane, AUS 👍 Wish it was more - so much to do, so little time! 😂 Comment below ⬇️
G O A L S E T T I N G ✨ Term 4 goals were written last week in my Yr 2 class. I use this cute template created by @ilove1stgrade I laminate, hang on a string to make a bunting and decorate my classroom with it. Such a great little reminder for the kids what their goal is! How do you set your classroom and independent goals?
One of my favorite bulletin boards for so many reasons.
1. Uhhh hello DONUTS.
2. It can stay up all year because let’s be real, it’s impossible to change those boards every year!
3. Most importantly I love hearing the WHY behind my kid’s love for school!
Thank you @hangingwithmrshulsey for sharing this sweet picture! I just love seeing products in action! (Link to grab this bulletin board is in my profile)
I realized that I’ve never really introduced myself, so here goes... First off, thank you for following along on my teaching adventures! I love being on IG and sharing ideas and learning from so many other teachers! 💗
Here are 10 facts about me-
1. I am married to my wonderful husband David, and we have 4 kids (2 boys and 2 girls). ❤️
2. I have a Bichon named Sam, but really I’m more of a cat person 😬
3. I grew up riding horses, and I actually wanted to be a barrel racer when I was younger. You know- the horses and sparkly shirts 😍🏇
4. I love to read and listen to books on audible! I did NOT like to read when I was young, so it’s important to me to help our littles develop a love for books 📚(I also tend to read several books at one time - just me? 🤷♀️)
5. I love to go to see movies! If I try to watch movies at home, I fall asleep 😴
6. I enjoy my workouts (keeps me sane) 🧘♀️
7. I watch Young & the Restless and Bold & the Beautiful 🤦♀️ 8. I teach Kindergarten in a Catholic school. I’ve taught grades PK-2nd, but Kinder is my favorite! ✝️ 9. I sing a lot. I’m not a good singer, but I like to sing. All. The. Time. 🎤
10. I love to get massages and pedicures! 💆
What do we have in common? Post in the comments! 👇 😊
Did you know you can turn the Class Dojo avatars into ANYTHING you want just by uploading a file? I love doing this! I have never done it for holidays, but decided to upload some adorable Halloween clipart from @creativeclipsclipart this year. I am so excited for my kiddos to see it tomorrow. In the past, I have let my kids choose their avatar when they reached a certain number of points. I will have previously uploaded choices for them like LEGO, Harry Potter and Disney characters. So much fun! See the highlights in my profile for instructions on how to do this 👻
Pumpkin Day is one of my favorite days in first grade! One of the things we do in the morning is have parent volunteers come in to help each table measure, weigh, carve, estimate, and count the seeds! It's always "the best day ever!" I have everything you need to organize your own pumpkin day or pumpkin week activities, including this recording sheet that leads parents through the directions. Instructions, supply lists, and other math and literacy themed pumpkin activities are included too! Link in profile--> http://bit.ly/pumpkinunit
Last week we made service vehicles using paper plates and pom poms! 🚓🚑🚒🚕 The children designer their creations first, selecting colours and materials. Sadly we were a little limited on materials but we used the things we had access to and I think they came out great! Display to follow! 𝙈𝙧𝙨𝘽. 🐝
I think you are FANG-tastic 👻 Simple and cute and NON-CANDY Halloween gift for your kiddos. I did these a couple of years ago and plan to do them again this year. I taped them down with glitter washi tape and it made it even cuter!
What’s even better than bubbles? Glow in the dark bubbles! This was just having some fun on the weekend with my little ones, but maybe it’ll spark classroom inspiration for someone out there...some sort of descriptive writing or science station for a Glow Day? 💡If you have ideas, feel free to share in the comments!
