Happy birthday to Leopold Hofmann who was the son of a highly educated civil servant, and at the age of seven became a chorister in the chapel of the Empress Elisabeth Christine, where his choral director and teacher was very likely František Tůma.
He was also a student later on of Georg Christoph Wagenseil and Giuseppe Trani (violin). His studies included at various points violin, harpsichord and composition.
In 1758 Hofmann secured what may have been his first appointment, as "musicus" at St. Michael's. He is known to have become choral director at St. Peter's Church in 1764 and, in 1766, kapellmeister. In 1769 he became a teacher to the royal family.
The position of Kapellmeister at the Cathedral of St. Stephan, a post he acquired in 1772, was among his next responsibilities. At this time he declined the directorship of the Imperial Chapel, but did apply there two years later in 1774, failing in his application.
On 9 May 1791, at his own request, Mozart was appointed assistant-Kapellmeister to Hofmann, an unpaid position. At the time Hofmann was ill and Mozart anticipated becoming Kapellmeister upon Hofmann's death. However, Hofmann survived Mozart and kept his post as Cathedral Kapellmeister until he died.
These last weeks I’ve been busy with some exciting projects, some are related to music, and some are related to my other passion: writing 🎹📝❤️. Here you can listen to Jaq’s theme, my new composition. This piece is the counterpoint of my Helia’s lullaby (you can listen to it on my IGTV channel). Have a nice week❤️🔥

M2: andante un poco adagio
Dors bien! : )
Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns (1835 - 1921) - French composer, pianist, organist, conductor, music writer and public figure, educator. Saint-Saens composed in all modern musical genres.
Danse macabre, Op. 40, is a tone poem for orchestra, written in 1874 by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. It started out in 1872 as an art song for voice and piano with a French text by the poet Henri Cazalis, which is based on an old French superstition. In 1874, the composer expanded and reworked the piece into a tone poem, replacing the vocal line with a solo violin part.
#100DaysOfPractice ~ DAY 92 (a). ☺🎻
This is a fun intonation and bow control exercise. ❤ Practising from Symphony No.7 in A Major, Op. 92. 2nd Movement: Allegretto by Ludwig van Beethoven. 🎻Trying my very best piano and pianissimo in the dynamics. 😏🎶 In truth, I actually put a bit too much weight on the bow and the strings as the piece went on. 😢🤔 Have to watch my bow pressure. Really want to play with more expression and feeling. 🎭😁 Bow control is a big part of that. Intonation went well. In this piece, the dotted quavers provide a wonderful, dramatic tension heard throughout the piece. 🎼☺ That sense of anticipation is palpable and ever present. 🎻 I imagine a hero heading through a forest, on their way to confront a dragon. 😐🎶 Or a lover returning to apologise after a rather heated argument with their loved one (like in the Cesar Franck Sonata). 🌹🎻 The storytelling possibilities are endless, and they give life to every piece of classical violin music. 😍 #Violin#ClassicalMusic#Violinist 🎻🎶🎼 ~ Superhero #Comics#Art#Writing ✏✒🎨 ~ #London#1LifetimeOfPractice 😃 #PracticeDiaries << #BecomingAVirtuosoViolinist#MakingMaestroAustin >> 🎻 #RawleAustinsViolin
Yesterday was definitely an amazing night. @khatiabuniatishvili was amazing as usual but seeing her live was an incredible experience. However, we didn’t meet her although I’ve been waiting with @pianomilan for long minutes 🤷♂️
Last year, Sverre Indris Joner's album "Con Cierto Toque De Tango" was released and I performed the violin concerto of the same name.
Here is a clip of the third movement that I played live with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (@nrkkork).
It was recently featured as one of the Arts Desk's Classical CDs Weekly:
"Henning Kraggerud is the soloist in Joner’s Con cierto toque de tango. Written “with one foot firmly planted in Norway”, it’s intoxicating stuff, the punning title’s hint of tango rather more than a hint. Kraggerud is outstanding, sultry and incisive by turns in a smart work which deserves to be a popular classic."

#Kwonseokyung#권서경 , #bassbaritone , has gained fame through ‘#PhantomSinger ,’ #JTBC . He won popularity as being a good singer and good-figured, noble-looking man.
But, his life was not always smooth as he appeared. While he was studying abroad in #Italy , the home of #opera , he worked at random for practical reasons—as a restaurant server, barista and/or part-timer at Korean restaurant. Even so, Kwon, the ‘Positive Mind,’ is bright; He took that as an opportunity to share more talks with Italian natives. “I found the elements of singing in the rhythms hidden in Italian language. Life itself was a study,” he smiled.
Things were not easy even after he returned to Korea. Under the practices of the field which had a narrow market, he was often improperly treated even though coming on opera stages. And then, Phantom Singer dramatically turned around his life. As the team ‘Heungspresso,’ which he formed with musical actors, #Koeunsung , #Paekhyunghun , and a tenor, #Leedongshin , reached to a final at season 1, in late 2016, he received a great attention. Kwon looked back, “Phantom Signer was a turning point and watershed of life.” And he brought out his songs to the world as first—#Musica , a #crossover#duetalbum with #Koeunsung , and First Tango, the first solo album. It is a choice of genres to meet more various public, though #classicalmusic is still his base. “I’d like to ‘kwonseokyungnize’ other genres, too. I don’t think it is unfaithful to sing other genres. It is an attitude to fit the current era. Even classical music was a genre like popular music at that time. I believe, only when doing various genres and thus, fandom is created, my root cannot be swayed anymore,” Kwon emphasized.
The final dream of Kwon who wants to lead popularization of opera is to be like the world-famous #operasinger , #PlacidoDomingo , who is flexible in various fields, as singing #PerhapsLove with pop singer, #JohnDenver .
Kwon, who vaguely dreamed to be an opera singer when young to see the performance of the #ThreeTenors in the 20th century with Domingo included, has a mind “to expand classical music market more with a story and music that fits the age.” #뉴시스#Newsis#이재훈기자
