Overlooking the Presidential Range with Mount Washington in the middle. In September, I’ll be walking (solo) from downtown Boston to the summit of Mt Washington to raise awareness of our increasing disconnection from nature and it’s numerous benefits. What a day. Best event I have done by far. Scotland is beautiful. Legs are back to normal again, walking was a struggle foe a couple of days as expected!
Ben Nevis will chew you up and spit you out after 14hours if you let it, naturally I ripped its Jaws open and showed it who's boss.
Six months of tough training, totally worth it. Respect for anyone who attempted this mighty event.
Be warned... I shall be referring to myself as a bit of a bad ass for quite some time.

@digmefitness my goal was to complete #citytosummit expert category and then stand in front of a white transit van in a car park and gloat about it 🤪 I managed both....and covered a marathon distance for the 40th time in the process 💪🏼 #runbikerun over 150 miles #digmefitnessmoorgate#digmefitnessrichmond#digme
“I like walking because it is slow, and I suspect that the mind, like the feet, works at about three miles an hour. If this is so, then modern life is moving faster than the speed of thought, thoughtfulness.” - Rebecca Solnit #alifedeliberate#explorelocal#citytosummit
In September, I am going to walk approximately 165 miles from downtown Boston to the summit of Mt Washington in NH to raise awareness of our disconnection from nature and demonstrate the true accessibility of adventure. I’m hoping you’ll follow along, citytosummit.org. #explorelocal#alifedeliberate#citytosummit#mtwashington#boston
What a day!! Started at Edinburgh Castle at 4am for a 15 mile run alongside the most stunning sunrise while running over the Forth Road Bridge.
115 mile bike ride in standard Scottish summer weather...ie drizzle! Took us up through Glencoe and the most amazing scenery, even with the bleak weather. Loads of hills and a squeaky brake for 35 miles almost sucked the enjoyment out of it, bags of skittles and Haribo kept me going though.
Then it was on to the West Highland Way for 15 miles. Tough, steep terrain, fully exposed to the weather but again just amazing.
Unfortunately I never made it up Ben Nevis, I was a little slow and quite honestly my legs were fecked. It took all I had to get through the final 15 miles to the finish line.
I'd usually be gutted at failing at something but it was an epic achievement, I'm proud of this medal.
Today I can barely walk without the threat of cramp, but it was worth it.
Thanks for all the support, I was quite overwhelmed when I finally picked up some signal and read the amount of messages I received.
Feet up now for the Love Island final.
Ps. If anyone fancies taking up cycling I have a Giant bike for sale and a bunch of kit. My arse won't be touching that seat for a very long time!!
