#tbt I think I was about 21ish and living in California at the time. This was at our church’s campgrounds in Dolores Co. This was the same year I was in conversion therapy to “pray the gay away.” With those blonde tips? I wasn’t foolin’ anyone but myself. Please!
I totally forgot to post but yesterday was #nationalcampshirtday so the kids and a few staffers built a snowman and put our camp shirt on him 🤣 Living at a Christian Adventure Camp has been such a blessing for our family! We have loved it! Camp has always had a special place in both my Hubby’s and my hearts! We both grew up going to summer camp and now our kids get that opportunity!
Over and over, we hear stories of how summer camp impacted someone’s life! Every summer, we see kids giving their life to Jesus, deciding to take a better path, choosing to make better choices and committing themselves to ministry! Summer camp changes lives!
Did you grow up going to camp? Did it change your life? How about your kids?
Nevaeh, Bailee, and SJ have each enjoyed camp in their own special way... For Nevaeh she dreams of the day she can become a counselor, Bailee loves camp but one week is enough she starts missing home, and SJ she is just getting into the swing of things and this summer will be her first stay away camp with out Grandma! My mom makes it possible for the girls to grow in their faith by sending them up camp! @wildernesscrc thank you for teaching our girls about faith, love, and everything in between! @botuckercamp @tuckercamp #itsacampthing#faithfirst#growingfaith#churchcamp#summer365#wcrc
Yet again falling behind. I looked for they perfect picture to go with this post yesterday and couldn't find it so I never ended up posting since it was so late.
We're just going with this one for today. 😉
I'm grateful to have been brought up in a Christian home. I remember having family devotions and learning scripture as a family. Going to church was just part of the schedule, and I loved it! I was blessed with so many great Sunday school teachers and Awana leaders throughout my childhood. Most all verses I know by heart today can likely be traced back to what I learned as a child. I love hearing my girls sing Patch the Pirate songs that I sang as a girl. 🎶 I was so blessed to have the opportunity to go to camps with my church, as well as multiple mission trips! ☺ Now my parents weren't perfect, and I wasn't a perfect child, but it's a special thing knowing you're cared for, and prayed for. 💗
so so very thankful for the memories tpw has given me over the past six years, but even more thankful for the friends i have gained. i love y’all, and love being able to worship our God together whole-heartedly and unashamed!!! #team22#churchcamp#GRATITUDE
Our very own Pastor Jackie Losurdo brought it home on the last day of camp with a timely message on loving one another 🖤
The New Testament mentions ‘One Another’ 59 times! There is great power in unity because that’s where God commands the blessing. God is at the centre of unity! .
“If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body? If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body.”
1 Corinthians 12:15-20
Sometimes we find it harder to love our brothers and sisters than people who aren’t believers. We think “they should know better” and we don’t extend grace to each other like we should. If we can’t love the way Jesus does than we’re no different from the world! .
“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” John 17:21
We are all valuable and no one is better than anyone else! There is perfect equality in the Body of Christ! #c3destinychurchbowral#churchcamp#loveoneanother
Powerful message from Pastor Nick Losurdo this weekend. A beautiful reminder to stay focused on the Lord above all else🙌🏼
“When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord,” Isaiah 38:2
Notice that he turned his face towards the wall and sought God when his situation looked hopeless. He did not waver in his faith or seek another mans opinion.
Turn away from negative people, situations and circumstances until all you see is God! #c3destinychurchbowral#churchcamp#seekgodfirst
We were all so blessed to have Pastor Richard Green with us on camp this weekend! .
•Don’t be what you’re not- be what you are
Get out of God’s way, keep it simple and let Him flow. When there’s a flow we all head in the same direction!
•We don’t need to look for opportunities. We need to look for relationships. The greatest thing you’ve got to offer anyone is yourself! Get along side people and out of you will come rivers of Living Water. .
•There is something that will transcend all of the gimmicks- Jesus said “they will know that you’re my disciples by the way you love one another” .
•The most significant thing is community!
People are hungry for community. They are looking for authenticity- for real and genuine people. #c3destinychurchbowral#churchcamp#communitywithpurpose
Wayne: “I have nothing to say”
Far too often, we think we have nothing to say. Maybe it’s because we believe things cannot change, and maybe we’ve said it, but felt like nobody listened.
Jesus always hears what you have to say. He’s ever patient, loving and kind.
Come to Him, all you who are weary and burdened with all the things you wish you could say to someone.
You can be assured He’s listening and working things out for your good.
Church Camp in the Mountains probably one of my all time favorite things to experience every year! It’s a blessing to be apart of church that has a time set aside each year for its people to go to the mountains and spend quality time together and to fellowship! #churchcamp#taftcomunity#mountains#arrowhead#fellowship
We had a great time at the Chi Rho retreat last weekend learning about the ways Jesus meets people at a table. CYF is headed to Athens this afternoon. What’s your favorite camp memory? Tag a camp friend below ⬇️🛶 #AthensTXAmen#ChurchCamp#Retreat
Every year during camp, our staff makes sure to pray with every camper and to bless them for the harvest. We do it every year, but we also love being here year round. Shoot us a DM prayer request if you would like covered in prayer 🙏🏻 “The prayer of a righteous person is effective and powerful.” (James 5:16)
Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:11-13
