Every once in a while we get a chance to enjoy eachother!! What great about this picture is that I was able to get us reservations at the City Winery domes on the Riverwalk after they stopped taking reservations using play-by-play steps from this book.
Courtney was only half way through the book but knew exactly what I was doing when she heard me. At the end of the conversation she was astounded by the simplicity of conversation and the way they gave us exactly what we wanted.
GREAT READ for anyone in sales or just wanting to fine tune their negotiation skills!!! #realestate#realestatebroker#homebuyers#negotiate#sales#neversplitthedifference#chrisvoss#motivation#hustle#powercouple
“He who has learned to disagree without being disagreeable has discovered the most valuable secret of negotiation”
Learning the art of negotiating and influencing behavior 💡
Learning how to confront and get your way, without confronting 💡
One of the best books I’ve read on communication.
I learned a lot, a whole lot.
One nugget that I will share is the idea that the person you are negotiating with is not your adversary - a huge perspective shifter for me. There are numerous other nugget shifting perspectives shared by Voss. #whatareyoureading#chrisvoss#neversplitthedifference
The rate is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The book title is “Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It” by the author @thefbinegotiator, I have listened to the audiobook through an app called “audible” @audible, the audible narrator was a pleasure to listen to. It is an impressive book filled with practical knowledge and it is very absorbing. It is fascinating and one of the best books I have listened too. The book is valuable to many types of negotiation, even situations that we may not consider to be a negotiation like things that happen everyday. It help you gain other people’s trust and understand other people motivation so you can meet their needs. In this book the author shows that the same techniques used for life and death negotiations could be applied to everyday conflict.
Quotes from the book: -“He who has learned to disagree without being disagreeable has discovered the most valuable secret of negotiation.”
-“Conflict brings out truth, creativity, and resolution.”

It’s not enough to just want to get out of debt or save an emergency fund—you have to actually make a plan for HOW! 🙌🏻 •
Y’all, I’ll be honest, though. It’s killing me to see all this money in my bank account right now (it’s payday) and not send most of it to debt 😩 I’m not really spending it irresponsibly but I hope I get this new job soon so I can make even more and make up for the momentum I’ve lost by pausing the snowball to save just in case 🙃❄️
Loved this quote from Chris Voss in Never Split the Difference, a negotiation book recommendation by @conrad_inspire that has given me some good tools to use in the interviewing process 🤓

Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss. “In this world you get what you ask for; you just have to ask correctly.” 💡
Negotiation comes down to what you say, how you say it & being 100% authentic when saying it. What you want in life is often determined by these 3 keys. Let’s dive in with 3 quotes that shows why 🧠
1st 🔑 “If you’re trying to sell something, don’t start with “Do you have a few minutes to talk?” Instead ask, “Is now a bad time to talk?” Either you get “Yes, it is a bad time” followed by a good time or a request to go away, or you get “No, it’s not” and total focus.”
2nd 🔑 “Everyone you meet is driven by two primal urges: the need to feel safe & secure, & the need to feel in control. You use a question that prompts a “No” answer, & your counterpart feels that by turning you down he has proved that he’s in the driver’s seat. Gun for a “Yes” straight off the bat, though, & your counterpart gets defensive, wary, & skittish”
3rd 🔑 “Be a mirror…negotiation begins with listening, making it about the other people, validating their emotions, and creating enough trust and safety for a real conversation to begin. Repeat the last three words (or the critical one to three words) of what someone has just said. By repeating back what people say, you keep people talking, buy your side time to regroup, and encourage your counterparts to reveal their strategy. In a study by Richard Wiseman, the average tip of the waiters who mirrored was 70 percent more than of those who used positive reinforcement.”
One major 🔑 I’ve learned is that if you want something from someone, It’s best to use empathy & try to understand their perspective. Then ask a question that makes them feel powerful: “Would you like to continue seeing Trump in office?“ “No, I will not have him as my president. Where can I sign?” We hate to be controlled but love to be in control. Once you have someone express their truths, their beliefs; they feel powerful & trust you more; which then, you can lead them to join your mission🕊
What have you negotiated for recently?

Give it a listen and if you love this episode as much as I did, it would mean the world to me if you shared it with your friends and gave it a 5-Star review on iTunes!
What is the number one thing you need to influence anyone? 🤓
Emotional Intelligence - the ability to identify, understand and manage emotions
This is so true. If you want to convince someone to think differently, you must first understand how the person thinks and feels.
A take away from Chris Voss’ book #NeverSplitTheDifference for me: The “7-38-55 Rule”. Based on Prof. Mehrabian theory that quantified communication in: words, tone of voice, and body language, which respectively account for 7%, 38%, and 55% of personal communication!
