“ The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare & beautiful of them all “ 🌸✨
i manage to do a calligraphy in class while doing work, i was bored so i deicded to make my hands do something creative 🍭
He has not left you, has not abandoned you, forgotten about you or betrayed you. In times of trouble, it can feel like everything that was once "reliable" had proven otherwise. .
Yet we can STILL trust that His plans for us are good, and His love for us does not falter. His Word does not fail and His Spirit does not relent in it's pursuit of our hearts. .
No matter the situation, He has a plan to redeem every single part of it.
You're gonna be ok love.
The context of this verse was so interesting to me. James starts his letter talking about tests and trials believers have to face when following Jesus and how we should embrace them and be joyful.
However, He knows that times as these require lots of wisdom and says that we should just ask God for it and He'll answer.
This is followed by the verse I lettered today:
But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6 NLT)
I thought the context was so revealing and convicting.
When I face trials, I actually do try to go to God first for wisdom, but I don't stop there. I often feel like I need confirmation and end up asking several people for their opinion afterwards too. And I find myself struggling because of the variety of advice I've been given. Like a wave, tossed by the wind.
Why do I question God's answer? Because oftentimes it seems like a riddle to me. Of course, He knows so much more than I do, or other people for that matter.
Or I'm unsure if it really was Him talking to me.
Let's truly ask for God's wisdom and not waver. Let's believe for an answer and trust in what the Holy Spirit makes known to us. 💕
We become the result of what we follow. You are in control of: what you follow, your decisions and who you are! 〰️ Message from @jon.barnes on Sunday night was seriously way too good and life changing! 🔸#sbdesignz2018
Watch what you say to yourself! What we feed our system plays a mighty part in what we become. The woman with the issue of blood in the bible did not get her healing because Jesus invited her. It was all down to what she said to herself. Matthew 9:20-22
Question - what do you say to yourself? be careful as you might just believe it and then become it.
@kerlligraphy beautiful! 😍❤️ Such tiny and intricate designs. ❤️ Amen!! Every word of the Lord lasts forever. And nothing missed! ❤️
Please stop to see @kerlligraphy and their beautiful handmade creations. Give them a follow. 😊
Inspired by Isaiah 40:8
I pray that when you look at this you will be reminded of the truth in Isaiah 40:8 ”The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
Heaven gained one of my heroes today. I loved Eugene Peterson’s passion for language sourced and fueled by his devotion to Jesus and His Word. I love-love John 1:14 in the Peterson paraphrase
The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood.
We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son,
Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.
It doesn’t get much better than Jesus walking up my broken street and saying He’d like to stay a while; He’d like to move in, in fact. I mean, have you seen my street? 😳
I’m thanking Jesus for Eugene today and The Message Bible and how it helps me know God more.
My other favorite Message passage is Luke 10:27. It’s Gospel goodness and it can’t be casually glanced at. It compels you to change. Do you have a fave Message verse?
@gracelightletters gorgeous ❤️❤️ Love your calligraphy work! And the illustration of this too 😍 I have seen this verse for days after the Lord reminded me of it, especially of the oaks of righteousness. We are planted by the Lord ❤️
Do go see @gracelightletters ti view her beautiful calligraphy artwork and be sure you follow her too. 😊
Here it is! If you saw my stories recently, I shared a tiny corner of this commissioned piece. It was a wip for a long time... much longer than I anticipated, but the process turned out to be a beautiful wrestle with the Lord. Sounds strange to call wrestling with the Lord beautiful, but in the end, whatever sanctifying process we go through leads to becoming more like Jesus, and that truly is a beautiful thing. •
Special thanks to @everleafdesigns for sending me green paint 😘
Don’t think even for a moment that you have been forgotten. God still cares.
1You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
- Psalm 139
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Our perspective in life is more often corrupted by what Satan has spread in this world. It is often difficult for us Christians to show our love for God when some of our friends do not have the same belief. This is especially hard when we have a history of a certain behavior and such.
I remember compromising when I came back home in December 2016. Although I have erased curse words in my vocabulary, ordering a beer or two still seems to be a part of me then when my friends and I gathered around a table. It was actually even I who suggested we order one each because I didn't want them to think that I had a holier-than-thou attitude. Sadly, it didn't end that night. I did that with the rest of my friends who still saw me as the same person I was before. My actions weren't helping them to change their mind though.
To add on top of the already compromised Christian life that I had then for less than a month, the main reason I went home was to find my ex and prove that I could change based on the fact that I do not just believe in Jesus now but actually call myself a disciple of His. I went to every nook and cranny of our town. But the meeting I had been looking forward to didn't happen because I was three days too late. The ex flew to another place to spend Christmas.
So I compromised real hard because I was too afraid to be seen as weird and a "hardcore Christian" (as how I would describe believers previously, especially my ex) and also because of unsurrendered things in me.
I condemed myself but eventually repented. Although I had to go through a lot of wrong choices and decisions, I learned a bigger lesson. Because of this, I've come to realize that I should ask a stronger discernment from God so that I would choose to close anything that Satan and his minions might enter into.
So if the Holy Spirit is convicting you, then pray to God to give you strength to breakaway from those chains. Declare the finish work of Christ in your life! It is done in Jesus' Name!

DAVID ROCKS 😁 He literally use stone to slay the giant. He don't want the God of Israel to be mocked. His humble heart asked God for forgiveness when he was rebuked of his sin. I find hope that God even after our long walk with Him, when we stumble, He is ready to forget our sins as far as from the East is from the West. His heart of devotion position himself in a funny way in worshipping God with all his might. He didn't care even what her wife thinks. His worship is between him and God. There are many more to say :) What do you admire about David's character?
Thanks to @shorty9916 🤗😘 #fhlripples#mightymeninthebible

Luke 12 - take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one's life does not consist of possessions
as st teresa of calcutta writes:
“we all want nothing other than to be happy and at peace. we were created for that, and we can only find happiness and peace by loving God. loving Him brings us joy and happiness. many, especially in the west, think that living comfortably makes a person happy. i think it is more difficult to be happy when one is rich, because the concerns about earning money and keeping it hide God from us. however, if God has entrusted you with wealth, use it to serve His works: help others, help the poor, create jobs, give work to others. don’t waste your fortune on vain things. having a house, honors, freedom, good health, all that has been entrusted to us by God so that we can use it to serve those who are less fortunate than we are
Jesus said: “as often as you did it for one of My least brothers, you did it for Me.” (mat 25:40) consequently, the only thing that can make me sad is to offend our Lord through selfishness or through lack of love for others, or to wrong someone. by wounding the poor, by wounding one another, we wound God
it belongs to God to give and to take back (job 1:21); so share what you have received, including your own life”
As you go about your day, there are people, things, and entities all around to get you off track. Some of these things you may not even be able to see with your naked eye. You’ll need your spiritual eyes.
You’ll need your spiritual eyes to be on guard. God can show you people’s true intentions, but only if you allow Him to.
You have to ground yourself in Him. Make His ways your ways and His thoughts yours thoughts. That only happens by spending time with Him.
And as you spend more time with Him, you will see and feel the love He has for you. It is in that love that you will find your courage and strength.
PATIENCE 10/22/18 prompt for #thingstostriveforchallenge with my beautiful friend Franziska ( @myfancyletters ) 🤗🤗💗.... Most people don’t know this about me (or if they do they’ve never said anything 😅) but patience isn’t my forte. Before having kids I never really paid any attention to working on it but now that I have kids patience is a necessity. Kids don’t learn well with an impatient teacher and I really want to be able to raise up adults that have learned how to follow the Lord. Thank God He is a patient father! I heard someone say once “if you ask God for patience He will put you in a situation where you will need it” 😅 for a while I used to say I’d never ask God for patience. BUT that’s definitely not the right attitude! “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”
2 Timothy 4:2 NIV
This is the attitude we are to have and not only great patience but we must be prepared in and out of season!
Lettering in general is something you have to do with a patient attitude. In a world where being “efficient” means getting things done instantly or as quickly as possible, it’s different to slow down and take your time. But with lettering and calligraphy you HAVE to or you will just frustrate yourself with slow progress. I firmly believe going very slow and being extremely intentional increases your progress in lettering. I tell my students to picture in their mind what the next letter will look like and really see it in your minds eye and even make the motion without putting pen to paper so you can be as intentional as possible. You will get farther faster being patient with your lettering! And then hopefully you won’t have to go back and re-train yourself. ..
Have you joined this lettering challenge?! Let me know in the comments!

Happy one year anniversary to this beautiful couple who are now proud parents! May the Lord continue to shine upon you and be gracious unto you! (Sorry I should’ve posted this yesterday, so I’m technically a day late).
Yesterday, we looked at the ways the Christian Creatives prefer to learn in online courses. Today, let's look at the ones that are at the bottom of that list And they are: Email drip campaigns.
Teaching by 100% video
Content on a learning platform (Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi, etc.)
Certainly video and learning platforms are being pushed by the "experts" as the way to go. But what if you are not comfortable on video or can't afford to put your course on fancy platform? Don't despair! Those don't seem to be deal-breakers with the online Christian Creative audience. Here is why I think those things landed in the bottom three:
Email Drip Campaigns - As we learned yesterday, people what access to the course material so they can work on it at their own pace, not waiting for the next email to drop in. But don't discard email drip campaigns completely. They are a great way to deliver a daily devotion or a welcome series for new subscribers.
Teaching by 100% video - Video is great for increasing the connection between you and your audience, but it does limit where and how the content can be consumed. But video combined with written material and worksheets that reinforce what is taught is a better way to balance convenience and connection.
Learning Platforms - Learner management systems like Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi and my new fave, Podia, makes your content look more professional, and allows a student to have access to all of the course materials in one handy dashboard. However, it can be frustrating to remember which course is in which program, keep up with the log-in info, etc.
So if FOMO based on "expert" advice is driving you to do something that doesn't feel right to you, just stop. You know your audience and content better than anyone else. Look at the full range of options to deliver your material and choose the natural fit for you. *

“A rested heart leads to patience and to the knowledge that I am beloved.”
I made this print for someone awhile ago and MAN DO I SUCK AT RESTING.
I’m constantly thinking of what i could be making, doing better, reading, etc.
and while those things are good, the Lord offers a deeper rest.
I don’t have to constantly be DOING things to be a good human being.
The Lord reminds me that in resting in Him, I am aware of my identity and that more than He wants to use me in this world, he just wants my heart.
He’s just after your heart, friends.
He just desires you.
So be at peace.
Find true rest.
You’re His beloved.
does Time heal or does Jesus?
we find comfort so often in the saying ‘time heals all’. raaaarely ever do we turn to the saying ‘Jesus heals all’
if you look at these sayings side by side… it’s a little bit a lot a bit obvious which one should be more comforting! of course Jesus is more comforting. it’s always Jesus. 😌💛
are you broken? are you sad? are you hurting? whatever you may be! Jesus is so ready to heal you from all of it. this minute. right now!!!
you’ve probably turned to the hope of time healing your pain over and over again like the majority of the people reading this post. don’t worry 😙 i’m just as guilty. i pinky promise!
what time actually does is fog over the pain, not heal it. as time is going, going, going our pain is sitting, sitting, sitting.
never forget ‘Jesus heals all’ and He truly wants to heal us with His powerful graces. no matter how many times we stray away from Him, He is constantly reaching out His hand for us to hold.
it’s an overwhelmingly feeling when you realize that you aren’t alone in your deepest, darkest struggles. if anyone can relate to your situation or struggle, it’s Jesus, the One who sacrificed Himself on the cross for your sins.
as tempting as it is for all of us to turn to TIME! save the trouble and find peace and comfort from the One who knew you before you were even here on earth. He is waiting to heal your wounds and mend your heart forever. 💛
happy monday boos!
I just want to be really real today. It’s Monday and this is my smiling face, but I have felt really drained when it comes to creativity lately.
We are only able to live our lives well when we are living out of our overflow. And the same goes for the things we create, our creativity comes out of our overflow.
It is really hard to look around and see everyone’s success, beautiful work and fun projects, meanwhile I don’t even want to sit at my desk some days because I feel so uninspired and I feel like there is never enough time in the day. And I know I am not the only one who deals with these feelings every once in a while, but that is just what they are, feelings. They aren’t reality and I am so happy for that! I don’t have to be a slave to the things I feel because the Lord doesn’t measure my worth by the things I accomplish or the work that I do. He loves me just the same, whether I have a productive day of hustle or a quiet day of rest. Learning to rest, not quit. .
Blame it on Sheila @dandelionsindec friends. I am officially obsessed with burning all things tiny 😍. After finishing the pieces for our essential oils collab, I was hooked. I immediately turned around and ordered 1.5” discs and the same rectangles she sent me. Can you guess what got delivered in today’s mail? It was sooooo hard to put off turning on my burner until after the homeschool lessons and lunch was done. But now the kids are free to enjoy the last few hours of daylight and Momma is burning away.
So here’s my plan...2-3 of these burnt discs linked together with a jump ring to be hung as ornaments. What do you think friends? Not your style, give me some other ideas for using them because I am #obsessed over here with these tiny pieces. Tell me all your thoughts and what you would like to see burnt on them. Don’t forget I have rectangles too. I can’t wait until the rest of my pieces come in to put them all together for you guys.
Our heads are still spinning from such an incredible weekend at @exchange_venue 🙌.
We met the most amazing people.
I value depth. I value deep conversations. These cards sold out. Every time one of those cards left the shop, I heard the story behind the purchase. Cancer. A nurse. A miscarriage. Seriously, we are all carrying our own baggage. Be kind. You never know how much someone is hurting.
It's comforting to know that God promises a better tomorrow!
