Instead of sending him to the kindergarten, I took him to the library and picked up some Eng/Jap children’s books yesterday. Also requested children’s vegan books and lgbt books. I was going to buy them anyways, but just thought it would be super nice to have them at the library so anyone can read.
Let’s hope that my requests will be accepted!
After that, we went to a yoga class. The yoga teacher was a very interesting 70 + year old man. He raised all of his children diaper-free when the concept of EC didn’t even exist, but he just knew “diaper was gross!” so he didn’t make his children wear them. (Lucky them!) There was a lot to learn from his parenting style too, though I may have too little patience to be such a good parent like him or his wife😅 Maybe I need to do more yoga to keep my inner peace🌱
Yoga was fun too, did some good stretch and headstand. Looking forward to do more yoga ♬
Another beautiful endpaper from Persephone Books! This one was originally from a woodblock printed curtain. The book is ‘The Runaway’ by Elizabeth Anna Hart, illustrated by Gwen Raverat, endpaper design by Margaret Calkin James. #childrensbooks#classics#endpapers
Meet our yellow tang mama and her 3 fry 👩👦👦👶🏻Yellow tangs are such delicate and peaceful members of the reef ecosystem. Can’t wait for them to grace the pages of our next personalized children’s book all about ocean preservation! #sustainable#mindful#childrensbooks supporting #plasticfreeoceans
The little fella is really into this book! It's not my favourite but I am raising a reader, so I read any books he requests with enthusiasm! Most of the time 😅 (I can't be the only one who has pulled the "daddy loves this book" trick can I??) Best thing about reading this one on repeat? Hearing how my 2 year old pronounces colours (kah-lahs) and watching him wiggle each time I read "mix, dance and wiggle" 😊
I set up this simple colouring invitation for after naptime with high hopes. He JUST turned 2 and still nibbles crayons, so I usually end up taking them away before we do much colouring with them! I thought maybe the book theme and the googly eyes would be exciting soooo...I don't actuallu know why I thought this would be different LOL. He immediately picked the googly eyes off (swipe for proof) coloured VERY briefly then had a crayon snack. 😕
This book will always mean a lot to me... Swipe left to see why! This book was given to me by my aunt, who is a kindergarten teacher. I completed an internship with her my fall semester of my senior year. On my last day, the whole class signed the book and gave it to me. My aunt wrote a sweet note in the back of the book that I will always cherish. I'm so thankful for teachers who inspire future educators 📚#futureteacher
