This week’s #tuesdaynightdinner fell on a Wednesday - I’m not perfect y’all. We went to India (in our minds), and promptly fell asleep from warm curry and even warmer couches. Thanks to our lovely guests @michefish and @recordbreakerschicago (that’s CB) for dining and snoozing with us! #indianfood ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s hard to believe, but tomorrow is already Queen Mary’s THIRD BIRTHDAY! We’ll be serving $1 oysters from 5pm until we run out, and running a special menu of your favorites from our past cocktail menus. Join us to revisit the Green Eyed Mutiny, The Admiralty and the Hurly-Burly, eat all the oysters your heart desires and celebrate a fabulous three years. It’s been such a pleasure to fix drinks for all of you for these last few years, and we look forward to many more of the same! #standfast
One of the perks of solo dining is walking right into a Michelin starred restaurant without a reservation! I had an incredible experience at @statebirdprovisions tonight in San Francisco including more dishes than I can count (check out my Stories). This squash mochi with shaved black truffle, Brussels sprouts and Maitake mushrooms and fried sourdough with burrata were definitely two highlights! Have you been before? It’s a must-try in SF! || #theghostguest
Looking for an easy meal that's sure to impress? Ricotta and Spinach Stuffed Shells to the rescue! •
Garlic, spinach, shredded mozzarella and ricotta make up the filling for these fantastic stuffed shells! Topped worth a fresh tomato sauce, tonight's dinner was one to keep in the books for a night in with friends.
Last Friday, I (Spoon marketing + just-get-in-here promoter + sister to co-owner Sean) decided to extend my walk home to shoot the store amid all that snowy loveliness. Of course, Sean was doing laundry & spied me outside. The perfect photo bomb. 🤣 #photobomb#opportunist#allinthefamily
Nothing better than a big acai bowl after a sweat sesh @corepoweryoga 😋🔅💛 PRO TIP: Despite the healthy connotation associated with acai bowls, they contain a ton of sugar! Although it’s all natural, unrefined forms of sugar (fruit, maple syrup, honey, agave, etc.), no one wants to spike their insulin levels😨 By no means are acai bowls unhealthy but there are some tips and tricks you can carry in your back pocket to reduce your natural sugar intake:) What can you do? Pair the sugar with a protein—either on the side or into the bowl! I always ask for almond butter which is a good source of healthy fat and protein:) It not only keeps me satisfied longer but tastes super yummy😋 Another tip is playing around with low-sugar substitutes! Juice bars and health-focused restaurants are always accommodating to dietary needs and preferences, so never be afraid to ask! When I can, I like to swap out banana, the sugar-dense thickening agent in most bowls and smoothies, for avocado. Don’t be scared, you can’t even taste it and it does wonders when achieving that smoothie consistency! Not only does it lower the sugar content but it’s a perfect option for those striving for a low-glycemic diet (lowers glucose levels and slows digestion, keeping you full longer). Lastly, I ALWAYS ask for light granola. If granola isn’t held together by cane sugar, then its most likely baked with maple syrup, agave, honey, etc.. These are just little ways to keep the blood sugar levels down but also satisfy your sweet tooth!
Featuring Scottish Waters - This combination of Botanist Scottish gin & Glendfiddich scotch comes from north and south Scotland, respectively. Also included is an olive brine & lemon, offering a bright citrus note and reminiscent of ocean waters - hence the name of this specialty cocktail! #themoreyouknow#scottishwaters#portsmith#chicago#illinois
When your mentor comes to Chicago, you take her to one of your favorite restaurants! The Hampton Social is famous for their “rose all day” sign, but they have the best food and an ever changing menu. It is one of the few restaurants that makes me like kale and their pizza crusts can be gluten free and vegan. Win!
To stack, or not to stack? That is the question. If Shakespeare were to write a play about LBW, what do you think he’d name it? 🐺📖Bonus points if you write a line or two of a verse/prose from that piece of work.
I always return from Chicago feeling full in both belly and spirit. Love the big city energy and the outstanding cuisine. Sister time is pretty great too!
