Time. The one resource that isn’t renewable and that we can’t ever buy more of. Slowing down, being grateful for the little things and remembering moments like these make it all worth it. Let’s capture some magic, shall we?
this image is five years old, a photograph of a moment i was teaching a class at a conference on “chasing a vision with children and family”. this photograph is of a family I met in Cabo, one who drove from LA to Santa Barbara to model for me. This photograph of two kids whose family supported my crazy vision, as a stranger who met them and their best friends on a beach in Mexico on vacation. I’m sharing this photograph as it is reminders like this are evidence of why this life is messy + free and feels exactly like it’s supposed to for me. grateful for all the families who take my crazy as a gift and believe in me in ways I’ll never understand those who trust me and inspire me in ways they will never know. grateful to reflect on the journey from then to now...from the days of Jessica Eileen Photo to @ourdays.photography ... still chasing the vision (my sweet Homa and Donielle thank you for being lights of hope in my creative journey)
How to hug properly?
1. Close your eyes and Imagine who you going to be in 200 years..
2. Appreciate that you live your life and have a chance to hug someone you love.
One thing I love about my business is the variety - on a given day I am literally sometimes from Indiana in the morning and finish on the north side in the evening. Most photogs would say hell no to my schedule but I wouldn’t do it any other way! (At least for now!) I go so many places and get to meet a TON of different types of people and that’s what I adore! It’s so cool to see the different ways people choose to raise a family. I get to photograph people who had babies early, and some who chose to wait. I get to photograph people who chose to have kids with a partner and others who choose to tackle it alone. Everyone has their own strengths and it’s really comforting to see everyone doing it in the best way that works for them! I love this little trio - three generations in this photo and these two strong ladies are raising this adorable little gal. Family’s come in all shapes and sizes and I’m so fortunate to get a front row seat to the amazing ways you all make it work 💕 cheers to y’all! 🍸🍹🍷🥃 (seriously, mango moscato in hand) #feelingsappy#lovethepeopleiphotograph#strongwomen#familylove#chicagofamilyphotographer#chicagofamilyphotography#chicagofamily#raisingagirl#familyscomeinallshapesandsizes#threegenerations#threegenerationsofwomen
Time flies but we have a great opportunity to catch the moment. Don’t miss it. Summer sun is perfect for maternity sessions.
Этот период такой особенный, его обязательно надо сохранить и в памяти, и на фотографиях. Мне самой уже не верится, что я в мае была беременная. Ловите момент!
Summer sessions are my favorite. Everyone can relax and enjoy weather, sun, and each other. •
I just realized that we have unintentionally taken an entire week off of social media. This week has been CRAZY! Four weddings in two weeks and lots of visitors from out of town. It’s been wonderful. But, busy. So, here’s a little “hey guys! We’re still alive post.” And I cannot believe we took this pic exactly one year ago in our backyard. Oh what a difference a year makes! Thanks @nattythebug for snapping this because I thought I’d be going into labor any second. This time of year brings back the sweetest memories and excitement for me.
This family’s joy and intentionality is so beautiful. Their session was full of sweet hugs, dance parties, and endless giggles 💕 I couldn’t get over how sweet and inquisitive the girls were—they asked so many questions about what it’s like to own a business, work with all different kinds of people, and constantly think about developing and challenging yourself. Their eyes lit up as I told them about why I do what I do. I am so thankful when in the midst of a photo session one passion crosses over to another passion of mine: empowering people to dream big and work hard.
This gallery is headed out! More photos on my story.
I feel so honored that this photo will be presented at M.Familia photo exhibit in St. Petersburg. •
