First ever sprint triathlon completed ! Set a good enough pace for the swimming,
Bike was so terrible that i can only laugh at myself. (Do i need to mention that everyone passed me and i must have been last to drop my bike?! 😂)
Then, got my second wind for the run, got pretty close to my personal best right after 20km ride so quite proud.
I was not competing with anyone today, just racing against myself. I wanted to see where i was after 2months of training. I wanted to push myself hard and beyond my comfort zone. And i didnt want to give up. I was closer to being last than first, but thats ok, im proud of my achievement today. Rest day tomorrow before riding again!
Ps: @bmcfadden almost swam faster than me ! 😨🙈 #triathlon#challengeyourself#blairandeva#ironman70 .3 #naptime#raceday#goals#trainingday
Pause reps have many beneficial attributes! Increasing your leg strength will also help your deadlifts and bench press! Pause reps add size and mass to your legs! For me it is also a mental challenge within myself of how long and how much could I hold while paused! #challengeyourself .

✨ Dear God, I trust that no matter what happens in my life, it is for my highest good. And no matter what happens in the lives of those I love, it is for their highest good. From all things that are put before us all, we shall become stronger and more loving people. I am grateful for all the beauty and opportunity you put into my life. And in all that I do, I shall seek to be a channel for your love.
NEVER F^CKING SAY NEVER!!!!! If you want it... you got it.... you just have to work damn hard for it!!!! 23 years old one kid vs 36 years old with 3 kids and bouncing back from a few very unexpected health problems that set me back! I kicked its ass and am on the bounce back!!!! Look the f^ck out!!!! P.s I am not really into foul language 😣😏 hope I covered it enough but had to get the point across. #allheart
For the past 7 years I’ve been in senior care. The concept of a chair with my yoga meant severe mobility issues that I didn’t have and a much slower, gentler yoga. Well, newsflash, I do have severe balance issues and poses like down dog require strength and stability I don’t have yet, or may never have (in the case of left side plank stretches). Tried down dog with a chair, tonight, and felt the struggle of the pose and stretch of the muscles, which meant it was being done right. I didn’t get blocks because I think they may be too low for me at the time but I knew I’d need to modify some and hadn’t bought the chair yet. Part of me believes that it was the senior care background saying chair yoga was a different kind of yoga, but part of me was resisting a crutch. I looked at the chair as a crutch! Some people may need the chair for more than the balance poses, but I want to push myself to that edge before I use the chair because I know then the modifier is truly needed. When I work with the first client who needs a chair, I’ll gladly research modifications for them because it’s about being active, not gym fit. But I want personally to help them push their comfort zones and mental blocks before they reach for the mod because then they know their milestone to hit with the program/pose/ability level. Tonight’s experiment helped me see both as a senior care professional the benefits of the chair and the mindset of the coach who’s goal is to get the client to see within themselves the strength they already have if they look past the brain’s safety mechanism of easy.
About last night: at times as adults we get too comfy, in our spot at our version of the lunch tables. We form our tribes, our circles, our communities, our box. Which is good, until its not. Sometimes we need to challenge ourselves, physically, mentally and emotionally. Do things we haven't done before. And once we push past those few awkward, not in control, kinda painful first steps really awesome, character building, and even fun shit happens. I am a super proud coach and member of a pretty awesome community. Massive kudos to @ashleyandsamvasquez for doing the hard work and taking the initiative. Thanks to @lins_fitt for also hosting wod, doing the number crunching and giving an amazing speech. My deep gratitude to @ringer_athletics for allowing me the opportunity to grow myself and step out of my own zone as a person and become a better coach. The gift of true friendship. All the athletes for being chill and good to each other, to our own for doing their all. Finally my own family, they stepped up at home, so I could be away. Its hard a 3 yrs old to not get why mom is not home at bedtime, or a 20 yr old with autism missing your Friyay store run. We all learned new lessons. #mindset#challengeyourself#pushtheedges#holdthestandard#momlife#autismlife#gymfam#fitfam#dedication#hergraceandgrit#dothehardstuff#dothefunstuff#icoachamazingpeeps

Happiness can be measured in so many different ways. For me personally, I'm happiest around my family and friends, and working with my team. My family has served as my motivation to work as hard as I have for as long as I can remember. My passion for what I do has fueled me to want to help people and change lives in any way that I can. There's no better moment than when a former client approaches me and tells me how much their self-esteem has improved and their social anxiety diminished because of the work we did. Community work also is very fulfilling, if there is any way that I can join forces with my colleagues and provide services to hundreds in needs I am incredibly humbled to do so. This year we are hosting the Glendale Health Festival again and are so excited to plan an amazing event for everyone. What brings you happiness? •
