It’s completely in the shade in the am and we get a lovely breeze coming off of Lake Ontario 😍 I’ll be perfectly candid— I only did one run through of the Poolside Press this morning (I’ll be doing the second set later!) because even with 5 lb dumbbells, I already reached my limit halfway through! Hello! My name is Cassidy and this is my second time doing the #chaargbootycamp !! Last summer I didn’t complete it, so I’m really hoping to stick with it this year. As you can tell from my photo, I’m a recent graduate — but not nearly as excited about it as I look in this picture. so I just found out this past week that after a sudden injury I’ll be having knee surgery this Thursday - I tore my meniscus + will not know until after surgery how long my recovery will be (could be anywhere from a week to about 6-8). I’ve been living out my days on crutches trying to stay positive but it’s been really difficult. Like anyone I love to be active + was truly hitting my stride this summer. I’d be lying if I didn’t say it’s been difficult to look at all these amazing girls in CHAARG on both their feet on social media. But at the same time as I looked through chaarg insta today I was reminded of my loving + supporting community 💙 if you know me you know I’ve literally been counting down the days until #chaargbootycamp + I really wanted to go all out on my 2nd ever fit plan. I’ve been struggling the whole weekend to think that on Monday I’ll start the fitplan without being on my feet + that it will be a setback. In fact I didn’t even open the portal until today because of that fear. I’m still trying to find the light in the situation + have come to the conclusion that I will try to complete every sweat sesh as close as possible with my injury ++ using the support of my community to try to relight my fire! 🔥 Thanks to all my chaarg ladies for keeping me inspired 💙 #inchaarg#gwuchaarg
Pre Bootycamp: I think there should be awards for people who take good full body pictures in mirrors, because my face kept getting weirder in each shot 😂—— Anyways...I always have liked posting before pictures because photos are the easiest way to track physical progress. I am happy with what I see in the mirror because I see a healthy body. But there is always room for improvement. In these next 5 weeks I hope to see 1) a stronger core 2) fat loss in my upper arm (tricep gains 😁) and 3) a little more booty 🍑🍑🍑 #chaargbootycamp @chaarg #umdchaarg

After a long hiatus, I’m back and ready for #chaargbootycamp 2018! My first year of grad school was great, but it definitely let fitness take a back seat. The FitTest was rough, but I’m excited to get back into a routine with this great #chaarg community 💪🏼
Took on the first workout of #CHAARGBOOTYCAMP today at my parents gym in Philadelphia as I’ll be on a plane back to Chicago tomorrow morning and won’t be able to workout tomorrow at all! I was really pleased with it- it was quite challenging (the pulses ++ different variations of planks and pushups challenged me and kept it interesting!) did some cardio after (arch trainer, I’m not exactly a runner), and took a serious of non glam gym photos because that’s who I am as a person.
Sometimes it’s hard for me to be around my family because there’s a lot of talk about appearance ++ discussing women’s bodies ++ comparing my sisters and I in terms of body and diet (and Work and stuff but that doesn’t trigger me much), but I’m glad I’m able to hold compassion for them and also not let that stuff impact my behaviors. Holding compassion for all of you too on this holiday weekend! I know Father’s Day is joyous for some, but not everyone, especially those without present father’s or those who no longer have that paternal relationship. And that is ok! I’m very lucky to have my dad in my life as it is a privilege so many do not have 👨👩👧👦

I couldn’t be more genuine when I say I am truly excited for this fitplan. Working out in the summer is hard, it’s hot out and I lack motivation to do literally *anything*. This fitplan couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I’ve been feeling really down about my body recently and I’m ready to make some changes and see what I can do, mentally and physically. I’m not kidding when I say these fitplans are magic. During the fall fitplan I was going through one of the hardest times in my life, recently dumped, struggling in classes and overall just not feeling like myself. After the 6 weeks of dedicating the time to myself, I became a whole new person. Always happy like I used to be and simply loving myself more than I ever had. I can’t wait to see this growth happen again with #CHAARGBOOTYCAMP 🍑 *

The girl on the left is me in college. Very active, loved to be outdoors, enjoyed hiking/biking/+so much more. She was happy, healthy, and loved life. The girl on the right is me a few weeks ago. Living in a miserable situation (no job/income, living with my brother and sister-in-law, post grad confused about adulting, etc.). She has her ups + downs about life and definitely doesn't do the things she loves anymore.
I've been trying to make some positive lifestyle choices lately, but I currently live in a house where I'm not supported. My career is a "waste of time," wanting to live a healthier lifestyle is a joke, + and I'm lazy for taking this summer to improve myself. It's hard to stay positive + motivated when the people you're closest with don't support the choices you're making. But I'm not giving in or giving up this summer. I have gained 40 pounds this past year. I can feel my body telling me to make a change, so I'm listening + doing what I need to do to improve my mental + physical health. Mentally, I want to be the girl on the left, so one of my goals is to find that girl + show her some love again.
