In the ancient canals south of Mexico City, you’ll find a macabre shrine that’s become a favourite haunt for adventurous travellers.
The Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls) is home to hundreds of rotting, mouldy and crushed toys, which were fished from the waterways to appease the angry spirit of a girl who drowned nearby.
Most of the dolls are nailed to trees or strung from washing lines, and there are also a series of wooden huts stuffed with nightmarish terror tots.
The island is like a living scene from a horror movie, and feels like stepping into a real-life Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

My Instagram profile is packed with bizarre travel pics. I post two striking photos every weekday. I’ve snapped interesting and unusual people, places, animals and ceremonies around the world. I have such sights to show you!
The magic that was Cahal Pech😍 There was a narrow stone staircase with that led underground and out to this gorgeous spot.
An archeological was happening when we arrived (we got lucky) with no other patrons to be seen. We explored in the uncovering of an underground temple! ⚡
They were very relaxed here and we were able to climb all over. We ran around the back of the temples, through the rooms and across the throne and tops of the walls. We even went to the very top of the largest pyramid and meditated under the shade of the trees growing from the sides and tops of the structures🔮 #travelbelize
There are kids that survived a malnourished infancy and still need care.
Plumpy Nut is a product used all around the world. I mean, you can find footage of Anderson Cooper walking through Africa and explaining the benefits of this special peanut butter.
This packet of medical peanut butter is loaded with protein, vitamins and minerals. We had our butter brought over on a shipping container and there’s plenty to go around!
While we work to end malnutrition before it starts in our baby program, we still fight the current crisis toddlers are facing.
And sweet Daisy is looking more “plumpy” every day!
Check out this skyline! Panama City has been awesome so far and we haven't even made it to the canal! Third most skyscrapers in all of the Americas after New York and Chicago.
"The gods envy us. They envy us because we’re mortal, because any moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again." #jungle#centralamerica
Puerto Viejo. Costa Rica 2015. Stayed at an Airbnb that got broken into through the bathroom window. They stole an iphone7. After 6 hours I bought back the phone from a local for 100$ usd and bought the SIM card wrapped in paper towel back from different person for 50$ usd. All in all success! #newstravelsfast#smalltown
