Thank you for this fantastic visual of a wonderful analogy Dr Russell Brokstein and Dr Theresa Hartley Dc.
Why do people accept that braces take months/years to fix crooked teeth, but assume ONE adjustment should fix a lifetime of subluxated vertebra?
Anyone who has ever had braces knows how long it can take to move teeth. That perfect smile doesn’t just happen, an orthodontist slowly applies pressure to move the teeth over many months. A chiropractor uses the same approach with correcting a misaligned spine. It takes time for a spine to become subluxated, and it also takes time to retrain the body to get back to perfect positioning.

No change emails will be out shortly. If you didn’t break your boards, you already know your results.
I got my first no change as a probationary black belt because I messed up my form. When I found out I didn't pass, my first reaction was to quit. There was no way I had made any mistakes on my form. At that moment, I hated everything about Taekwondo: the sparring, the board breaking, and the stupid forms.
I am so glad my parents were there to help me through that anger and were strong enough to make me go back to class. Mr. Lacy took me aside and walked me through my mistakes. You know what? I definitely made those mistakes. Even though I was disappointed that I didn't pass, I knew I deserved it. And I knew that when I did earn my next belt, I would deserve that too.
In my parents' minds, quitting because it finally got hard for me was not an option. They understood how it was important for me to learn to be resilient; to be encouraged by failure, not defeated by it. And thank goodness for that!
If you got a no change, I know your pain. I know your disappointement. And I know you're discouraged because I've been there. But the absolute best thing to do after a no change is to get back to class as soon as possible to start working towards achieving your goal.
