Let’s talk about improvement!
Almost exactly a year ago I made my Mystery Girl cosplay. I wore her once and didn’t touch her again. I felt confident in the cosplay itself, however I was so embarrassed by not having the skills to make the wig look good that I didn’t want to touch her again. I’ve been working this past year to improve my cosplay skills all around, wigs, costuming itself, and makeup wise and it shows! I was convinced that I’d never be able make the wig in a way I’d be happy with, however (thanks to @plasbadd ) I pulled her out of storage and tackled her once again and in two hours I ended up with her looking beautiful. It could look better of course, however I’m very happy with her and it’s amazing to see what just a years difference made. Never give up, because even if you think you can’t get better, give it time and practice and you can improve tremendously! 💕
I was gonna wait until tomorrow to post this but I’m so in love with it I couldn’t wait! I’m gonna make a post tomorrow showing the improvement I made since last year. It’s amazing. 😍

I’d like to thank @umbranwitch again for her wig styling tutorial because I never would’ve been able to style this without her video!
“Gooooooo Crystal Gems!!”
I’m really in love with this Cheer version of Sapphire (inspired a bit from @xubsdraws ), it’s an outfit that gave me a lot of confidence and made me feel cute while wearing it!

STORYTIME! So I was walking around near the main stage after the Steven Universe Panel at @comicconla on Saturday (I generally don't do panels) meeting up with all the amazing SU cosplayers there when someone behind me was pointing out that Blue Diamond was in front of them. I turn around to see an adorable Pink Diamond cosplayer and her dad. This dad seemed like any other con dad, so I thought nothing of him. Pink and I geeked out over each other and took some pictures together which her dad snapped. When we were done he pointed out his shirt to me (a Blue Diamond shirt!) and suddenly I thought he was the coolest guy at the convention and I asked him if I could get a picture with his shirt. He said sure and I passed my phone off to someone in the crowd to get the picture. While we were setting up the shot someone asked me if I could take a picture with them... I responded, "Sure! After I get a picture with this guy's shirt!" because I legit was going to just crop the photo to have his awesome shirt be the focal point.
THIS GUY...turned out to be Billy Bob Thornton and I didn't realize I snapped a photo with and nerded out over Steven Universe with him until I was on my way home and noticed people freaking out about him in their instagram stories. I'm sorry for referring to you as "THIS GUY", Mr. Thornton and I hope you forgive me. Your shirt is great! Your daughter's Pink cosplay is fantastic by the way!
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done in public? Make me feel better about myself in the comments!
