Through a series of three live performances, we will explore ways to reanimate works of art that no longer live in the studio, but are now on display in the exhibition Studio Visit: Selected Gifts from Agnes Gund (closing July 22). Inspired by Wolfgang Laib’s Milkstone—a hand-polished piece of marble into which milk is carefully poured daily—painter and sculptor Torkwase Dyson will consider the gestural language of building and maintaining sculpture. Choreographer Jonathan González will unearth the artist’s hand with a performance in the Sculpture Garden inspired by Richard Serra’s Promenade Notebook Drawing for Obama, an etching included in the Artists for Obama portfolio commemorating Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. The evening will culminate in a musical performance and DJ set by Yatta reflecting on Glenn Ligon’s Graduating Girl (Version 2) #1 , part of a series of paintings by Ligon based on coloring books created in the 1970s by, for, and about black people.
They say in order to live you have to decide you want to be free... I say in order to let go and live freely you have to trust that loving yourself is a reflection of loving something bigger than what society makes it out to be. Remember we are all part of each other in some way or another because we are all part of something greater than our individuality. But it’s celebrating our uniqueness that frees us to love in a way that is true and pure. Stay connected through the way you love yourself and others... be apart of what is unknown and have faith in what is coming... lastly know where to go when you feel yourself drifting away.
We all get caught up... remember living starts again when you aren’t afraid let go!
Happy Sunday beautiful people ♥️ #beach#bodyactivist#beachbody#health#mentalhealth#selflove#selfcare
Busy day for my teams today.
Scarlett and Jenny off to Trelights for a changeover and domestic clean and then back to Wadebridge.
Luke and Beth off to Rock and Trebetherick for changeovers and a quote for a very famous person! 🤫
Dog sitting is so much more than filling bowls and picking up poo. It's my responsibility to not only keep up with their physical needs, but to be in tune with their emotional needs and keep them feeling safe and comfortable while their people are gone. Not always easy when there are fireworks, but I sure do try. #petsitting#petsitter#nervousdog#comforting#caretaking#ilovemyjob
Bringing in the girls in the evening gives me time to spend the last hours of the day with them, and that is when i cogitate much,Every day i look at the setting sun thankfully that the day has set and hope prevailing that it shall rise again,Its rays and the beam of lights are always magical to me,in regard of ancient times this great legendary sun has shone the same rays of lights over millions of the earths inhabitants.
It helps me realise that we all are passive beings on the face of earth, that no matter how good a day was,it must set, paving way for some darkness, and the same with a bad day too. Many times i look at the beams rays hit the girls and the resultant huge shadows cast, makes me liken their essence of being the last two of their subspecies,as a compulsory setting administered by us:Human beings
and a setting that means going forever.
However today, the setting seemed different,as i went about taking them in,i noticed this cloud that looked like the most common sleeping posture of Najin,it exactly resembled her and how she is fond of sleeping,by the time i got composed the clouds had distorted the exact image i saw. What a magical way to end my day
Well, whether i am possessed by these rhinos or its true the image and the rhino looks the same you’ve to help me distinguish.
N/B May be the heavens are speaking and pitying the forceful setting we have done to the Northern whites, and telling us from above all our actions on earth are watched and pay day will come one day.
When your darling, heathen, troll of a husband sends up your Southern Baptist-ish grandmother's pills in a shot glass instead. ☠️😱 “What? It's an optimal delivery system for pills," he says.... No, no. It's an optimal delivery system for sin is what it is. #caretaking#adayinthelife#marriage
Along with the Summer Solstice, Cancer Season has come and with it a collective inclination toward softness and sensitivity. Leaving the realm of Gemini which was all about philosophical exploration and external curiosity, the Sun will now focus on showing us the gifts of our own psychic senses, the importance of a happy home and family life, and the value of boundaries & self-protection in a harsh and overwhelming world.
As a cardinal water sign that’s ruled by the moon, you can feel into the energy of Cancer by imagining a crab in the shallows: hard and resolute yet also soft and vulnerable; surrendered to the waves as they come; nostalgic; determined to dig in and/or make a home somewhere along the shifting sands. This energy tends to orient inwards – emotions, psychic senses, and intuition are paramount. There is also a focus on home and close relationships as the mothering nature of Cancer emerges; encourage it by prioritizing self-care and nurturing others where you can.
Cancer season is also a time to honor the Divine Feminine, and to make room for the expression of the Goddess in your life. This could mean allowing fierceness when you would acquiesce, to be firm in your protective boundaries when you would give in, or on the other hand, to soften when you would be pushy, or to nurture where you would nag. You may also try to be more receptive or to listen more if you usually do a lot of the talking, or to speak up if you typically tend to be passive. Other ideas could be talking with plants and trees, singing to the Earth or sky, teaching new things to children, or going on walks and picking up trash along the way.
The Sun represents our primary essence and state of consciousness. As our source of power and light, and the greatest gravitational pull in our solar system, changes here affect us deeply and tangibly, so keep an eye out for how this changes the collective “tone” of our reality. My bet is you’ll notice yourself and others feeling more sentimental and intuitive – honor these experiences as sacred messages from the Divine and you’ll be so much better off!
