✨Health and Time✨
One thing that was very difficult for me to grasp is that it takes time to recover from an injury or illness!⏰ Recovery doesn’t occur over night. Recovery doesn’t happen from a single session of stretching. Recovery doesn’t happen just because you went to sleep early one night. If you’re trying to come back from an injury or illness, allow your body the time it needs before trying to get back into the gym.
There have been days that I’ve woken up sick with a cold, sore muscles, or even with flu-like symptoms and I would still try to get a run in or even an ab workout! I was so obsessed with working out that I NEVER allowed my body the ample amount of rest that it needs.🤧 Although it’s still difficult for me to rest when I’m recovering from an injury or illness, I now take a more positive approach : 🦋While I take care of my physical body, I allow myself to instead spend time for my mental and spiritual self blossom & flourish. It’s important to remember that I only have one body and this body houses my soul so in order to have a healthy soul, the body in which it lives must be healthy too🦋
So when you’re recovering from an injury or illness, take as much time as you need! The more time you take to get back to health, the faster you’ll actually recover and be able to get back into the gym. You’ll also have more time to focus on your mental and spiritual self😌🌞🙏🏽

The two Nursing specialties I once claimed I would “never” work were Pediatrics 👶🏽 and Mental Health 🧠 and ironically enough, even though I am an Occupational Health Nurse ⛑👩🏻‍⚕️ (as far removed as I thought one could get from my “never” options), the majority of the Nursing care and education I provide fall squarely within the realms of Mental Health and Family Practice. The truth is, people’s lives outside of work are not shed at the time clock as they punch in for another shift, and so, lately, I have been forcefully challenged by the reminder that Nurses are called to serve in accordance with their patient’s overall needs, rather than within the bounds of our official job descriptions. Even though a Nurse’s technical training and specialty may dictate how we approach caring for a patient’s body, it is a Nurse’s humanity and ability to concurrently care for the patient’s soul that makes a long-lasting impact on positive patient outcomes. Between staffing shortages, inventory issues, time constraints, insurances and other bureaucratic nonsense, noncompliance issues, etc, building a healthy rapport with patients can be very challenging and Nursing can become an exercise in frustration. But it is undeniable that being a Nurse is often an automatic “in” into people’s lives and I am humbled by both that trust and the opportunity to serve my patients and their families. I am grateful beyond words for their lessons. ☺️ 🙏 A Nurse’s Prayer: “Let me dedicate my life today in the care of those who come my way. Self-care is not a one-size fits all scenario.  We all define it and embody it differently. One day, after a particularly chaotic and busy week, I announced to my husband that I need to plan some self-care and was going to dye my hair.  He laughed and incredulously asked my why I considered dying my hair to be self-care. To him, that would feel like a chore. To me, it would be bliss: Sitting in a chair, doing nothing, with no responsibilities, is my version of self-care, and I’d be getting a cool new hair color to boot!  It got me thinking about the myriad ways we define self-care and how sometimes self-care is actually NOT doing the thing you thought was self-care in the first place.  For example, sometimes going to the gym for a hard sweat-sesh is exactly what I need for self-care. Yet, sometimes giving myself permission NOT to go to the gym when I actually need some time to rest and read and receive is self-care.  It can change from person to person and even day-to-day for that same person.

, di Batu Kuda camping Ground, kaki Gunung Manglayang. “Integrative Body Movement merupakan sebuah upaya untuk menguatkan kesadaran atas keterhubungan antara tubuh, pengalaman dan alam sekitar”- Permata Andhika Rahardja 
Tubuh merupakan penyimpan kenangan yang paling baik, tidak seperti pikiran ia tidak pernah lupa. Karena setiap pengalaman selalu meninggalkan jejak rasa pada tubuh. Sakit, sesak, gemetar contohnya selalu menyertai emosi-emosi yang mengingatkan kita pada pengalaman-pengalaman yang tidak menyenangkan. 
Integrative Body Movement merupakan proses olah gerak dan rasa yang meliputi penyadaran atas diri (tubuh-gerak), ekspresi emosi, refleksi atas pengalaman-pengalaman, dan koreksi gerak, napas dan postur. 
Karena diri selalu terikat dengan ruang dan waktu, maka semua proses tidak pernah terlepas dari interaksi antara diri dengan alam, lingkungan, dan budaya yang merupakan sebuah hubungan timbal balik yang terus berkelanjutan. 
Kemacetan, jalanan rusak, banjir, longsor, sungai yang kotor, mata air yang hilang misalnya, adalah sebagian kecil akibat dari lemahnya kesadaran akan keterkaitan antara gerak atau perilaku diri dengan alam sekitar. 
Maka berawal dari penguatan kesadaran, salah satunya melalui Integrative Body Movement ini, diri diharapkan dapat menemukan kembali keseimbangannya dengan alam sekitar.

Pada tahun 2008 bersama dengan teman lainnya, perempuan yang ingin akrab dipanggil Ci Mata @matapermata ini merumuskan sebuah metode olah gerak dan rasa yang melibatkan isu alam, lingkungan dan budaya sebagai salah satu titik utamanya. Metode ini kemudian dikenal dengan sebutan Integrative (Environmental/Cultural) Body Movement Approach (Integrative Body Movement). Pertama kali diaplikasikan sebagai bentuk penanganan trauma terhadap para penyintas bencana gempa di Kab. Garut Selatan. 
Selanjutnya Ia  menjadikan Integrative Body Movement sebagai media/metode utama dalam kerja dan karyanya dalam bidang penanganan trauma, pengembangan diri, seni pertunjukkan, kesadaran terhadap lingkungan, serta dalam memfasilitasi komunitas-komunitas khususnya perempuan dan anak.

Ci Mata @matapermata bermain bersama anak-anak dalam sebuah sesi body movement di kegiatan sinema kaki gunung @sinemakakigunung di Cibodas Gunung Gede.

Anak memiliki sensitifitas terhadap rasa yang lebih besar dibandingkan orang dewasa. Akan tetapi seringnya dunia kata-kata orang dewasa justru membuat mereka lebih sulit mengekspresikannya.

Integrative Body Movement memberi ruang bagi mereka untuk dapat mengekspresikan apa yang mereka rasakan terhadap pengalaman yang mereka alami melalui gerak rasa. Sehingga mereka dapat lebih bebas menceritakan apa yang ada di dalam hati mereka tanpa terbatas kata-kata.

Pada tahun 2008 bersama dengan teman lainnya, perempuan yang ingin akrab dipanggil Ci Mata @matapermata ini merumuskan sebuah metode olah gerak dan rasa yang melibatkan isu alam, lingkungan dan budaya sebagai salah satu titik utamanya. Metode ini kemudian dikenal dengan sebutan Integrative (Environmental/Cultural) Body Movement Approach (Integrative Body Movement). Pertama kali diaplikasikan sebagai bentuk penanganan trauma terhadap para penyintas bencana gempa di Kab. Garut Selatan. 
Selanjutnya Ia  menjadikan Integrative Body Movement sebagai media/metode utama dalam kerja dan karyanya dalam bidang penanganan trauma, pengembangan diri, seni pertunjukkan, kesadaran terhadap lingkungan, serta dalam memfasilitasi komunitas-komunitas khususnya perempuan dan anak.

Menjagai semangat butuh kejernihan berpikir dan kelapangan hati dalam menerima semua perasaan (marah, sedih, kecewa, takut, malu, salah dan sebagainya, yang memang selalu campur aduk). Pada yang lebih muda, kita harus selalu percaya, bahwa kebaikan antara sesama perlu dikuatkan, bahkan ketika kita ada dalam kondisi terlemah sekalipun. Pada orang dewasa, yang justru telah terbiasa mengabaikan mimpi-mimpinya, merekapun seringkali lupa untuk terus menjaga keinginan-keinginan terbaiknya. “Jadilah orang yang realistis”, “kerjakan saja tugas-tugas yang harus dikerjakan”, , “jangan ambil resiko”, “apa ada untungnya?” Rasio kering begini jamak bersemayam didalam kepala orang-orang kebanyakan, tak peduli nurani menggedor-gedor sanubari. 
Pada anak kita bisa belajar tentang bagaimana merawat rasa percaya, bahwa hidup bisa dibuat indah bersama-sama, berbagi cerita, berbagi mimpi. Menguatkan harapan dari anak-anak kita, untuk bisa kembali percaya, bahwa jatuh adalah cara untuk melatih kita untuk kembali berdiri tegak dan segera berlari lagi. Mengerjakan mimpi.

A beautiful February day for restarting a giant black horse. This is the first time in ten years of horse ownership that I’ve been able to ride with a friend on my horses! That means I have two rideable horses at one time... truly a dream come true! And obviously a long time in the making. Mable was a gem for Aurora to ride bareback and Isabeau and I had our first fully unassisted ride. Gosh it is amazing what a great friend and sweet horses can do for the mind, body and soul.
