Day 52/80: I'm back!!!

Back to my workouts AND back to myself.
.
Cardio Flow is my least favorite workout. That's no secret. I've been dreading it for days but tonight I decided that the only way to stop dreading it was to work THROUGH it.
.
Fitness has taught me countless life lessons over the past year, but the one I was reminded of tonight was this: the process is sometimes painful but the results are always worth it.
.
Conquering this workout in Phase 3 has me feeling incredibly proud. I know I'm stronger than ever before, inside and out.
.
Life is unpredictable. Your world can turn upside down in an instant. I've learned that lesson recently, so I'm working hard to embrace the change I couldn't control as I learn to grown and rebuild. This process may be painful, but I believe it will be worth it, too.

Working out isnt pretty. If you're truly busting tour ass you should be a sweaty mess. I dont know why I bother wearing shirts when I start a workout ! It never ends well lol. Today is bitter sweet as I hit day 70. I feel amazing because never in my life have I done anything like this. But I am also a little sad because in 10 days I will be done with my first round of 80 day obsession. Thank you to the best coach in the world @sheri_boberry ! Thank you for helping me sign up to be an official bod member! You are seriously the best friend anyone could ever ask for. 
On a side note the top picture is me doing step throughs for the ENTIRE  workout. It took me until phase 3 to be able to do most of them. But this time I was able to do Every. Single. Flipping. One! This is the face of someone who just finished their first workout in about a month. 😳 
Thanks a lot plague of 2018 🙄😓😷 It was only a 30 min workout and I. Was. Dying. 😵💀 💦 It wasn’t pretty. I may have taken too many breaks. But I did it ! And sometimes that’s the biggest challenge. 
It was super hard and I almost gave up after 15 mins. But I feel so much better knowing that I stuck it out and did my personal best ! 🙌🏼 So whatever you’re going through today, I want you to know that you can do it ! You can do the hard stuff. And it will make you stronger in the end! Today was just one of those struggle days.  Love working out and the energy I get from it, but today was a struggle.  It was cold this morning, it took 15 minutes to melt the ice off my windshield, I forgot my watch and it was a Cardio Focus day 😭 But I got it done, it wasn’t my best day, and I was sluggish, but I put in work and I finished my sets.  It’s not always pretty, but it’s always worth it.

Nothing but LOVE for the routine, the habits, the consistency,  and yes, especially the FUN this program is all about. 
If you think you can't be consistent. If you think, there's no way!!! I've been there. I've thought ALL of those thoughts. 
But, there is seriously something magical about this program that flipped a switch in my mentality. Because,  it really is a mental game. This program has made me a winner in the mental game, which has led me to win at the physical game of fitness too. I'm in the best shape of my life at 43. (And all...I was a dancer from age 3 until age 23!!! I was active and thin...) But the me now, I am strong!!! I have a great cardio game going! And... I finally know how to eat to fuel my body!!!! That combo, MAGIC!!!! So, I make these posts for my own accountability,  but also because I hope to inspire you to be better too. I want you to find the magic too!! And, I'm here to help. My anxiety has been sky high the last couple of days. So high that I even skipped my workout this morning. I am on day 58/80 of my SECOND round of 80DO... and I have never just skipped a workout. Not a smart move on my part.  So after work, I put EVERYTHING else on hold that I normally do, drank my Energize, and pushed play. Day 58: Cardio Flow. 8 full rounds, no stopping. When it got hard or seemed like it was too much, I pushed harder. I burned more calories that I ever have during that workout and am so glad I did it. There are SO many things out of my control, but one thing that IS in my control is my fitness journey. So I took control and did something for me. The old me would have just come home, put on pjs, ate bad food, and gone to bed early. I may still put on my pjs and go to bed early... but after my workout 🙂. Thankful to this amazing program. It not only has helped changed my body, but more importantly it has changed how I view myself and why it’s important to take care of yourself. The old me would have just come home, put on pjs, ate bad food, and gone to bed early. I may still put on my pjs and go to bed early... but after my workout 🙂. Thankful to this amazing program. But then the day didn't go to plan ......traffic was horrendous on the way home so I didn't get in till 7.30pm......starting cardioflow at 8pm after a long day wasn't doing it for me, I have to be honest 🤦‍♀️ But I did it. Today was definitely in the books as dedication over motivation, but whatever gets you through it you KNOW you'll feel better once it's done!

So let me explain... in #CardioFlow you do 4 reps of a cardio exercise then add on 4 reps of another exercise, then start from the top and add another exercise on, and so on until all 10 exercises have been added together; at which point we usually have to repeat all 10 exercises 2 more times. 😑 Not today. Today we had to repeat them all 8 times. So I pushed through the first 3 rounds, then struggled through 2 more and quit. The excuses were loud in my head, I had done enough cardio, I'm still a little run down, I'm sore... But @Autumncalabrese's words kept repeating in my head "Don't quit on yourself". So I gave myself a little pep talk and knocked out the last 3 rounds. This video is round 8.

She was excited because we matched workout clothes today... black shirt and black workout capris 🖤 It’s funny how I look at a workout and feel disappointment because it doesn’t seem hard when looking at the moves and it is shorter than normal and then I start it and wonder why I ever doubt these workouts are going to be worth my time... I hear it all the time from friends how hard it is to workout when you have kids. Making time, they wont nap when you want them to, and want your time and attention making you #momguilt hard when you want to get some time in to work on yourself.

I dont have kids...but I do have a boot stealing, sock thievery jumping toddler pup which make home workouts difficult at times... So today hank got his workout in too! (And now hes currently napping on the couch.. )

While I push up'ed, plyo jumped, did all the yoga moves too (all having animal names btw) I made him

1. Heel.
2. Go find his ball.
3. Stay.
4. Fetch his dinosaur
5. And when his crazy self got "in the way" I jumped over him ...and when on the floor I was thanked by many puppy kisses.

His favorite moves are the DUCK walks and GORILLA! 
Hey lady, Its not possible to do it all. But each day set your too three for that day and make it happen...regardless of the challenges. It might even turn into a double dog mom win...workout for me...nap for him while I move on to coffee and devotions. ❤

This workout is phase 1 cardio flow PLUS 8 times through it. Going in, I told myself I was going to break it up into 3, 3, and 2. So do 3, take a break; so 3 more, take a break and crush the final 2. Make it manageable, right?!.

Speechless. 😳😱That’s the word that comes to mind to describe that cardio flow workout I just did! For me, it’s a gnarly, nasty, beast of a workout; my nemesis, my Goliath, a total mental game. And guess what?!. . I OWNED it! I CRUSHED it! And it feels so darn AWESOME!!!. . This workout is phase 1 cardio flow PLUS 8 times through it. Going in, I told myself I was going to break it up into 3, 3, and 2. So do 3, take a break; so 3 more, take a break and crush the final 2. Make it manageable, right?!. . # Muscles involved :- Shadow Boxing is a full-body workout, most of your muscles are being worked. Your main focus is on your arms but you may be surprised at how many muscles are being used.

It works your abdominal muscles, shoulders, chest, back, calves, quadriceps etc. Punching power starts in the legs. Assuming you do a variety of punches, footwork, and dodging you are working your toes to your neck.

Since shadow boxing does not involve a punching bag or person, your abs and back muscles are used more. That is because you stop the force of the punch yourself and maintain your balance.

It can help you improve your strength, endurance and reflexes. However, as an exercise it lacks focus. So it is not a good replacement for weight-lifting or a cardio exercise like running but goes well with them.

As a cardio exercise, it probably will not get you breathing heavy or your heart beating fast. As an exercise to build muscle it is good for toning but not for building big muscles.
