It’s been windy in the afternoons the last couple of days but that didn’t stop us from a couple of hikes. This photo is from out at Cape Arago. Yesterday we hiked out at the South Slough with some good friends. Of course it included a little geocaching. One thing we are enjoying about being back in our home town is visiting our favorite places and seeing our amazing friends.
Highly recommend Shore Acres if you’re ever down this way.
It’s a very large botanical garden off the rocky shoreline of the coast, it was a gorgeous day for it.
I’ll add some #latergrams this week.
Just a few clips and pics from the day so far.
The drive from Depoe Bay to Bandon is one of the most stunning stretches of the coast, IMO. It’s pretty hard to capture and/or put into words.
Keep it moving! Make it count!
Views from my trail run 🏃🏻 🌊 I had to stop and take in the scene... well and to catch my breath. 😅 4 miles running up and through Cape Arago trails and I’m beat! 2 days in the ocean and 3 days of hiking/running trails. Don’t think I’ll get up from my chair by the fire tonight.. Thanks for the butt kicking @mirsrich @matibug @oregon_young_wolf @hardyweld #trailrunning#capearago#OregonStateParks#justdoit#deathbyhillclimb
Whatever you are, be a bright, outstanding one! (I think this is a moonglow anemone- Anthropleuria artemisia). I don’t know why this individual is bright orange, but I’m #grateful to have it’s glowing tentacles send some extra beauty into my tide pool exploration! #tidepools#capearago#naturalistlife#anemone
People travel from all over the world to experience Cape Arago in Charleston, Oregon. The beauty of its rocky cliffs and views as far as the eye can see make it one that is hard to surpass. A quick drive up past Sunset Bay will yield a very small drive way that opens into a large parking area. Park the car, and walk down the trail to the right and you’ll find benches and picnic tables scattered about, tucked amongst the trees overlooking the steep cliffs of rock where the waves crash below so hard that they create a milky froth.
