Inspired by the Philippines.
I have never physically been there. But I can tell you my heart has.
My prayers have been plenty towards those children.
I can't explain it...it just is.
Over a year ago, Love Church announced a mission's trip to the Philippines. To a children's orphanage.
Every fiber of my being became viscerally lit. I was pulled. I wanted to go SO BADLY.
I was in the midst of an intense child advocation process, here in the U.S. I'm sure that was one reason I had to stay on this soil to prepare.
I spent many months working on this. An entirely different looking painting was underneath. I don't remember what that was.
I didn't have funds for purchasing a canvas and really desired to paint, so this was it.
I went to town with this one. I don't remember all the things that cycled through my awareness and emotions. I do remember crying, scratching it with sticks, listening to music, thinking of music.
How music is the universal language of love. Those children. I wanted to show them God's love. I wanted to sing to them. I wanted to ease their worries through sound.
It pained me many times to think of children abandoned and abused. To wonder how they could be reached...by a "stranger" who speaks a foreign language.
Music. Music. Angelic music.
Expressions from the HEART. Genuinely tuning into and trusting God to show them they are loved. Through the eyes and voice of another human...showing something greater. To show deep love and to leave a child, trusting that love will evolve and deepen in their own rememberance.
I could only wonder. And cry. And pray. And paint.
Dots of gold started developing on the canvas as I thought about lights in the dark. God planting lights of truth, support, and love. In the dark. Lights in the dark. They exist. We are not alone. We are not hopeless. We are not forgotten. And we alone are not responsible for saving the world.
We trust. We trust we are enough and that our hearts and prayers reach further than we can imagine.
That God has it in his power and his plan to expand hope and faith as we continue to shine our lights, as he asks of us.
Be Blessed and Greatful. Strive to love MORE.
This adorable #seahorse is our #mondaymotivation . Roughly 20’ x 30’ in “Smoke” @sunbrella, its four-point asymmetrical awning is supported by straight fir posts stained brown to match the deck and finished with a spar varnish. The seahorse itself is roughly four feet high and custom made from @sunbrella. 🌊 #summerindecember#underthesea#seahorselove
Collaborating with @oceanviewclub on the lounge and sleeping 😴 tents for their new resort, The Other Side, was a dream job. 🌴🌊 Here are some more pics - resort website link in bio.☝🏼#sperryfabricart#bahamasvacation#resortdesign
So thankful for all the firefighters working to keep us safe! It’s a tough job and they are still working hard in mid October to control them. It’s close to my heart with boyfriend there in California! Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers! #shoutouttofirefighters#wildlandfirefighter#photooftheday
Sometimes I just need to take that first step.. and that can be the hardest one! I’ve picked back up photography, it was a passion of mine years ago. Since I’ve been working on it lately I can’t explain how much joy it brings me❤️
