Hi friends! Just checking in, how are you? How is life? What is new? What are you struggling with? ⠀⠀
I’ll start. I am good. Life is getting better. I am sitting on a bus today headed to Portland, Maine (peep at my stories for the travel day). It’s been a hot minute since I traveled for pleasure. So I am excited for this little day trip out of Boston. ⠀⠀
Currently, I am struggling with missing Scotland (aren’t I always?!) and friends. I recently was thinking about my visit to the UK for my 23rd birthday and how I felt so fortunate to have friends all over this world to visit and love (also this picture is from that trip). Lately, I’ve been trying to recreate the life I had in Scotland here in Boston. I find myself saying things like “well when I was in Scotland I did this”, or “I felt this, so I did this.” And that won’t work simply because I am a different person than I was a year and a half ago. I put a lot of pressure on myself to make it work to find ways to recreate an old life which isn’t doable. Yes, I can find ways to recreate it (because Boston is basically a mini UK), but that shouldn’t be my goal. So I am finding ways to create a new life here and not to put so much pressure on myself. ⠀⠀

When I went to Moab, Utah. I had three random items that were lifesavers. We were car camping, so we had no showers for about five days. It was honestly the best! Besides saving loads of money, we cooked by the fire, drank loads of beers, and stargazing at night. ⠀⠀
My top 3 items to bring with you to Moab.
1️⃣ Bandanas. They are great for cooking, cleaning up, and hiding your gross hair after four days without showering. Because no amount of dry shampoo will hide that. They also help protect your skin from the sun.
2️⃣ Eucalyptus or another mint essential oil nose inhaler. Dust, sand, dry heat, need I say more?! I got mine from the dollar store it was a shock to the system when you used it, but the best thing ever.
3️⃣ Wet wipes or face wipes. Once again, primitive camping without a shower. Feeling refreshed was the best feeling.
When are you out exploring what are your must-haves?
It finally feels like fall has landed in Boston with all the blue skies and chilly mornings. I am excited to get exploring more of Boston and rest of New England this fall and winter. Planning some days trips, pumpkin patches, breweries, sunrise hikes, and strolls through the city with salted caramel drinks (I love them). What are some of your favorite fall activities?
I’ve rewritten this caption at least six times. Attempting to find the right words to convey what I am feeling, but also make it relatable. ⠀⠀
This picture is from a hike in Wicklow, Ireland. I hated this picture. Loved the scenery, but hated me in it. Here is the thing, this picture makes me feel like both a badass and self-conscious. I had been full time traveling for three months, out of my fitness routine and eating awful and cheaply. I could see the weight gain, and I wasn’t happy. ⠀⠀
Here’s the thing, confidence is something I think we all struggle with. Some days for me it is great and others I am walking ball of self-consciousness like a middle schooler in a new school. ⠀⠀
Why am I telling you this story? Because I am making myself accountable to show all sides, to keep it real. And to show my struggles and my strengths. I want to incorporate more of my fitness and health journey, both in physical and mental. I think it is important to discuss all the sides, not just travel, life, and showing pretty pictures of places.
“You don’t have to have it all together to move forward.” I found this quote in a downward spiral on Pinterest Friday night. Am I the only one who this happens to? ⠀⠀
This quote resonated with me. Like this picture, I felt as if I was on the right road, but there was always these massive mountains blocking the way. Things were not working, cities not working, jobs not working, missed opportunities. Basically, for me, it felt like life just kept getting in the way. Lately, I’ve been working on not allowing that. My path, with however many roadblocks and detours, twists and turns, is meant to be and leading me where I need to go. When you stop thinking the universe and life are out to get you and ruin your chances at the best life, amazing things start to happen. ⠀⠀

“I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” -Anne of Green Gables. ⠀⠀
I have a not so secret love affair with October. I’ve mentioned before it is a season of change and growth for me. I’ve struggled before with October though this time around I am trying to focus on positivity and knowing I’ve always come out stronger from my Octobers. So I am excited to see what this month brings. What is your favorite month and why? ⠀⠀

When hard work pays off, traditions keep on going. Thanks @whiteguystuff for helping me get this guy from the woods to the freezer. My first whitetail ever taken with a bow and I couldnt be anymore grateful for how it all went down this past weekend. #nchunting#archeryhunting#ncoutdoors
The Union Methodist Church at White Store has relatives of mine burried in the cemetary, some dating back to the mid 1800's before the civil war. Its awesome that its still standing here today over 150 years later. #knowyourroots
