It’s been a really hard past couple days. But I’m doing my darnedest to give thanks this holiday and take nothing for granted. No matter how much we *think* we are in control, our precious Life is never a guarantee. My mom, @revbethie, this week heard that nasty “C” word from her doctor. We still don’t know all the answers and what the treatment plan will look like but we do know she’s not alone as she’s got one hell of a tribe praying for her all over the world. She’s one incredibly strong woman and I know she’ll be a fighter. Honestly, I don’t much care for the concept of “fighting” but there really is no other way to wage peace with this disease that consumes your body. Our world needs a cure for this. Please send your prayers, positive thoughts to not only my mama but all the medical professionals, scientists, researchers, fundraisers, family members, every dang boot that’s on the ground working to harness this disease. God bless you all. Hug your loved ones a little closer this thanksgiving and never take your time and life for granted. .

🤷🏻♀️I always choose salty over sweet. Truffle 🍟 over 🍫 🍭 ANYDAY🤷🏻♀️⠀
But I know that may not be the popular choice. I recipe tested and perfected (don’t mind me tooting my own horn) a grain free, nut free, dairy free and refined sugar free chocolate chip cookie recipe for you just in time for your Thanksgiving guests! Also, I promise you are not being punked! Click the link in my profile to grab the recipe! I am curious, anyone else choose salty over sweet?⠀
These two people are the strong, courageous and determined parents of a little girl called Ava.
Ava has a rare and high risk Neuroblastoma, that unfortunately, now appears to be untreatable here in Australia.
But there is hope.
And a vaccine available in New York City.
Ava's parents have been tireless in their efforts to get their little girl the lifesaving treatment she needs.
And on Saturday night we joined them at Ava's Gala in a bid to raise the final funds to get Ava to New York City.
An incredible $114,000 was raised and will be invaluable in getting this beautiful girl and her family the help that they need.
We wish Ava all the very best with this next step in her treatment and give all of our love and support to her family x @avasjourney_
THE PACT: the story of how a young boy’s promise to beat leukaemia inspired a troubled fighter to make the UFC and win the World Championship. In 2013, Maddux was announced to be in remission and in December 2016, Cody Garbrandt became UFC World Champion.
Throughout, Cody gives insight into how visualisation and his faith in God kept his dream alive when his alternate fate of prison or death kept calling his name. Get even more insight to yourself by answering the study guide questions as you read including “How can you create more opportunities for the people you care about to speak truth into your life” and “Where are you currently considering giving up on a dream?”
“This is what that fight was all about whole journey had been about - the fulfilment of vision. The pact the two of us had made with each other, and the pacts we’d made along the way with ourselves, our families and God.
The pact to live life to the fullest and to never give up. To live to fight. To fight to live, and as we do, to share a message of hope and love and caring and friendship.”

🙇🏻♀️What is your calling in life?🙇🏻♀️⠀
I do know that although our specific calling can look different, we have all been gifted this life with a purpose to love others and serve well. When we are walking in this purpose we experience so much joy and peace. However, when we don’t feel well, how in the world can we walk in this calling? As we approach the holidays I encourage you to make healthy choices physically and emotionally. Many of us are traveling during this time of year so I shared some of my favorite and very simple tips in my stories to help you make healthy choices this Holiday season. And if you haven’t received the gift I have for each of you, make sure to click the link in my profile to grab your healthy holiday meal plan for FREE!⠀
I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer in 2009. I declined chemo however I accepted a lumpectomy on my right breast and radiation for 30 days. I decided to invest my time and energy into finding natural ways of keeping myself healthy and happy. Today I am feeling extremely grateful since I am 10 years breast cancer free. My best advice to staying healthy and happy is to always focus and invest on your own personal self-care. For me that includes eating healthy, sleeping 7 to 8 hours every night, drinking lots of water and teas, moving my body daily, spending a lot of time in nature, making connections with positive people, using chemical free products and essential oils, writing in my gratitude journal, taking moments out of the day to self reflect, acknowledging my positive and negative thoughts, meditating, volunteering, and then repeating.
Thanku to all the kind staff at Women’s College @wchospital for all of your ongoing support and service. I will see u in a year ❤️ #breastcancerawareness#breastcancer#cancer#health#selfcare#selflove#loveyou#loveyourself#healthcare#fightcancer#cancerfight#cancerfighter#cancersurvivor#womenscollege
This is one of our Little Big Steps Champions, Lochie.
Giving it all that he has, while he can.
Childhood cancer is so different for everyone, and each day can be so different for those living with this horrible disease.
But when well enough, it is so important to get up. And to get moving. To help not just their own physical well-being, but their mental well-being.
As parents, as friends, as a community, we need to make sure we do all that we can to encourage this activity.
To interact and engage.
To make it fun.
To make it part of their treatment and recovery.
The benefits all around can only be positive.

from @whatcandicesaid - Had insomnia so bad last night that no drug could touch it. Sleeping pills don't stand a chance against this kind of insomnia. Hot flash after hot flash, then being terribly cold. And repeat. I stayed in bed till 2pm and woke up crying because I had wasted an entire Sunday sleeping instead of being with my family. I had high hopes of taking them to the santa Claus parade, that's not happening now. The mommy guilt smacking me in the face. So I had to come back to bed to cry because I don't want them to see me sad. It may have been my last round of chemo, but it is certainly kicking my ass. The drug I was told to take to help with my hot flashes is an antidepressant. I've steered away from them my whole life, and now may have to come to that because of hot flashes and night sweats. Breast Cancer is not pink ribbons and boob jobs. It is debilitating. It takes so much away from you. Your life changed forever. I know I am saying this only 2 days out from chemo. But it's true. After all the treatments are over, it never really ends. Thanks for letting me vent here. I think I look like Uncle Fester is this housecoat with my bald head. If you have read this far, thank you. Love you all.

“You will make it. Never feel alone. Those silent struggles and challenges can’t break you. When your in the midst of confusion and don’t know what to do, still keep believing that you will get through it. You have been trying and that’s all that matters. It might seem hard to go over the bump in the road or it might even be harder to keep going when you want to give up, but you can't. You're probably wondering when will things change? When will it start to get better? Well I have great news for you, the blessings you deserve are about to arrive right now. So much will be lifted off of you. Changes might not happen right away, but they ALWAYS do. Sometimes it takes time to test your patience. To see how ready you are to step into change. Nothing is being held back from you. Everything is happening for you even when it seems like it's against you. Change causes discomfort because of the internal shift one experiences to create a better reality. Habits get tested. Now is the time to start owning your reality. Now is the time to start taking responsibility for your life. Miracles are about to happen for your. Your efforts never go unnoticed. Be patient, everything is about to change for you.” - @idillionaire .
