Today I turned around ↪
I reached a point where I couldn't go any further West or any further South, the most southwestern tip of Europe.
They sell Bratwurst there and speak of America and Freedom.
Why anyone fleeing or emigrating into the land of freedom would have cared about eating Bratwurst on their last day in Europe isnt clear to me, but I got a certificate handed with my bun 😅
I just hope that this lighthouse will also be a symbol of welcome to those who will soon flee America as it has turned time on it's head, and for Europe to return the favour and become the land of freedom for those persecuted by their own governments if need be.They will be welcomed with a Bratwurst apparently.
From today on, I wont see the sun set into the sea no more, as I am on my way back East.🚙🌄

✨WHICH COUNTRY IS BY FAR YOUR FAVORITE ONE & WHICH ONE IS STILL ON YOUR #bucketlist ? For more than a month now we’ve been living here up in the mountains in the home of El Serradell. We’re very much enjoying the stability of having a „fixed“ home with all its amenities like a hot shower (when the sun was shining!), a fixed toilet & water in general (when it was raining!) Nevertheless we find ourselves, thinking of being on the road again. Our dearest friend Mister Wombat is parking in front of us, reminding us every day of all the adventures we’ve had, all the lovely people we met, all the beautiful & not so beautiful things! We’re still dreaming of traveling the Panamerican Highway some happy day & Norway & Iceland are very high on our bucket list too...WHICH COUNTRY IS NEXT ON YOUR LIST & WHOM WOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU? Tag them in the comments. 😊💚
No matter where we go or what we do, coming back to our rolling home always makes us feel excited. We still can’t believe we built a tiny house, let alone lived in it for over a year. We’re getting nostalgic as the countdown to the one way ferry ticks on, and we’ve been thinking a lot about the people that we’ve met and the good times that we’ve had so far on our Vanlife journey. The adventures only just beginning, and we’re super pleased to be able to take you all along for the ride 🚐
It’s been over 3 months sleeping with you, facing sun and storms, getting stuck, welcoming guests, meeting other amazing CamperVaners and listening to their mystical stories, driving the narrow portuguese roads after the perfect spot. Happens that this spot seems not to exist and what we found was a deep trust and respect for each other’s braveness. I’m 35 and you 26 years old, what a perfect partner you’ve been Nagaraj! I’m deeply grateful for your support in all possible ways.
Who here thinks that mindset is important? 🙋♀️
We recently learned that we need to remember to turn the water pump off before we hit the road with the trailer. All the bumps along the ride make the sink faucet open up and let out a small drizzle. We stopped to use the bathroom at a rest stop, and realized our kitchen sink was overflowing and there were puddles all over the kitchen. •
Silver lining you ask?? We needed to mop anyways, so it worked out!
I’m headed back to New Mexico for the upcoming @womenontheroad gathering this weekend! I’m super excited to connect with a bunch of wonderful ladies and meet more individuals within the community. Also, I’m pumped to be co-hosting a discussion-based workshop on Saturday! This weekend is going to be magical...I can feel it ✨ See you all so, so soon!
The way a raindrop happens to fall on Triple Divide Peak will determine if it will eventually flow into the Pacific, Atlantic, or Arctic oceans. We've been thinking a lot about this lately. We know where one ends up in life has a lot to do with where they started, where they were born, what family they were born into... We know how fortunate we are to be on this journey. We aren't oblivious to the fact that not everyone can do this. As people we aren't too different from the rain drops that make their way into the rivers that empty out into the different oceans on this planet, but we do have more control. If there's something you want or a change you want to make, it might be difficult to swim against the current but we promise it will be worth it 🌊
We've been mostly staying put at our job site during the last couple weeks of training, but yesterday we went off campus to explore part of the Salton Sea. If you don't know anything about the Salton Sea - you should do a quick google search. It's an interesting piece of history, and is kind of beautiful in it's own way despite being polluted by runoff and highly salinated and the "sandy shores" are actually just bones from barnacles and massive fish die offs. It did smell, but not nearly as bad as some people say.
🇬🇧 Actually, we didn’t intend to stay long to not bother Toni and Franzi too much but every day we thought, “Well, maybe just one more night?” 😄 So far, we haven’t really met a lot of vanlifers and so it’s even better when you’re hitting it off immediately, laughing, joking and having a good time! As Lola carried us down the mountain again last night, we left with the feeling of having made two new friends 💖
Thank you again, Toni and Franzi, for the beautiful time! If you don’t know @mywanderingisland yet it’s your lucky day: on Nov 1st they’ll launch their new web series on YouTube about their last two years of vanlife. We’re already hot on our seats! 🤓🍿
