“Only look back to see how far you’ve come...” ✨🗺
Here’s one from the archives -
Exactly two years ago today we snapped this photo (1), our first EVER of us and the van that would eventually become our full time home. 🚐🥰 We had just picked it up and were super excited/nervous/nauseous/eager to get started, so we threw a few goodies in the back and took him for a weekend away 👉🏼 (2) Big Red at the start of our journey, in all his humble, ex-post van glory, and (3) Two years, one DIY conversion and tens of thousands of kms travelled later. ❤️🧡
It’s amazing seeing our far we’ve come, both us and the van, and it gives us the warm fuzzies knowing that whatever happens in the future, we really gave this a red-hot go.
I wonder what things will look like in another 2 years?... #turningdreamsintoreality
After working for a few months it’s good to be back on the road with no plans or commitments again. I’m sleeping better and nothing resets your body clock like getting out on the road and living the outdoors life. Thanks @elisehalina for the journey and adventure through an amazing 2018. Can’t wait to see what 2019 brings :) 🦎🚐
some nights look like this. ✨
lately it's been quite different. being as incognito as possible...meandering down the coast of California.
stealth camping sure ain't glamorous but luckily anywhere is home with this guy and this van.
Sometimes it’s okay to check out and let the world pass you by for a while...
In fact I think it’s more than okay, I think it’s necessary in order to really know where you are and re-align with where you are going. Allowing a moment to recognize it actually is not a race but a journey.

Our weekend’s work—cabinets from @ikeausa. And let me tell you, this kitchen does NOT feel tiny!
We’re planning to hack these plain cabinets a bit by adding trim and some fun paint. What color do you think they should be?
One of my favorite campsites in North America, directly in the riverbed of the Flathead River, Montana. I spent 5 nights here in August and still daydream about going back! 🚐
The Middle Fork of the Flathead River originates in the heart of the Bob Marshall Wilderness, one of the most incredible places on earth; and it eventually leads to this epic spot where you can camp directly on its shores.
#usa#route66#californie
The bus doesn’t look like this any more. Check out the link in profile to see the spray foam insulation that went in today.
In this photo, Elijah is standing in the shower and Ry is in the bunk area. I took the photo from our bedroom.
Thanks for all the “get well” messages today. What did you guys do this weekend?
Only a couple of hours out of Adelaide and we feel like we are in the middle of @australia 🙌🏻😱 •
We’ve been traveling towards Port Lincoln for the last couple of days where we will be staying for a week (in an @airbnb!!!) 🙊
We loved our time in Adelaide even though we almost cooked but are definitely looking forward to slowing down and spending time out of the van! 🤣
We have been living in the Van full time for four months and on the road for over two and in that time we’ve already covered 7,000+ kms! So we are definitely looking forward to chilling and staying in one place for a week! 😊🙌🏻
Some days we wake up in a magical rain forest. And other days we wake up in a Walmart parking lot with rain pouring through the ceiling into our bed. This morning was the latter.
Since the very first night of our trip, we’ve dealt with this leak, and it sucks - but when you make the decision to live in a 33 year old vehicle, minor inconveniences (like having to sleep with bucket) come with the territory.
Throughout our travels we’ve also dealt with a broken @dometic fridge (which we bought brand new 🙄), an engine that leaks/burns all of the possible fluids, our wall separating from our floor, and countless other things breaking. As we’re heading home, we can tell this old Yoda is ready for a long rest and a lot of TLC before we go on any more adventures. I think it’s safe to say that everyone in our family is ready to hibernate for the winter.
Does anyone else think of winter as a time to hunker down and get shit done? I’m far from a lover of the cold, but this is something I’ve learned to appreciate over the years - especially after spending 6 months on perpetual vacation. What are your goals this winter?
Hope you’re having a cozy Sunday night. We’re burning almost as fast as Craig can split it! My RA bound shoulders have got me out axe slinging for the next while (#sorrynotsorry ). I’d feel bad if it wasn’t his favourite activity ever, but it is, so I’ll consider myself lucky.
Tell me what you see in this wood pile! (Because I see boobs) 😂 #Canada
