First night of "vanlife" was an amazing experience. After hanging out with Aarons Grandma for the day and hearing her stories of when she and her late husband lived in a van, we set out in the road to Harrison. We drove up a very bumpy gravel road to "Hicks Lake" in Harrison and found a campsite late in the evening.
We made hot chocolate and spend some time to ourselves with the dogs and just enjoyed the quiet.
After that, we watched a few episodes of The Office before falling asleep to the relaxing sound of the rain hitting the roof of the truck. .
This morning we both woke up smiling, and excited to see our surroundings in daylight. We both couldn't believe that it is Monday morning, and neither of us have any obligations for the foreseeable future. The freedom hit us like a wave of relief.
Aaron got out of bed and got dressed. As soon as I got up I couldn't help but run over to him and hug him. This has been a long time coming. That hug lasted throught the entire song "Autumn Beds" by Modest Mouse. It was the best thing ever. .
Then we tidied up. I didnt put on any makeup, and I put on sweats so I can be comfy all day...That in and of itself felt like a huge victory. .
Then we hit the road. We first visited Harrisons Natural Hot Springs and walked into the super hot natural waters in bare feet. It was so refreshing!!! (Video coming soon) .
Now we are having tea (and using free wifi😉) and then we hit the road again :)
Thanks for tuning in!
