HIIT workouts consist of alternating between bursts of high intensity exercise and low-intensity exercise, usually with a ratio of 20 to 30 secs of intense exercise followed by 15 to 30 secs of rest or less-intense exercise. HIIT workouts have proven in countless studies to be superior to steady-state cardio when it comes to burning fat. Studies have shown HIIT exercisers burned 900 percent more fat than their steady-state cardio counterparts.

Skipping is a take anywhere do anywhere exercise that you can get an effective workout in as little as 10min that the whole family can enjoy for little to no cost.
Yes it May take some practice but you will see improvements quickly if you persist and there are so many jumps to try. My favourite jumps are:
Run in place, regular bounce, front straddle, side straddle, feet front to back, side to side, three step twist, boxer skip, butt kicks, rope side to side crisscross. 
If you only have time for a 10-15min skip workout go all out, max out the intensity to get the best results. Whatever workout you have with the rope it鈥檚 going to get your heart pumping, breathing heavy and improve your fitness
