Work is over the top busy, and I am working everyday. Deer season is in full swing, and I have been going out every chance I get. Dove season starts on Saturday, and I will be going out. But truth be told, I am just sitting here day dreaming about duck season., and counting down the days. #hunter#jager#jakt#calihunter#dontpanicitsorganic#yellowlab
So I had to miss the rifle opener this weekend, but I figured if I wasn't burning calories in the mountains I should burn them getting the garage gym ready again. Installed some ceiling storage, moved around some shelving and got the gym all setup again. Bench and weights ✅ incline treadmill ✅. Time to start getting in some extra work. Thanks to my boy @evad_82 for the help with installing the ceiling rack.
Out with the old in with the new! My old reel has been there for me through thick and thin. Over 10 years, 3 complete rebuilds, that monster bass at midnight on Uvas, @b_cheyenne21 you should remember that one, trout fishing with @freedog96150 that weekend my car blew up. More bent hooks and no broken lines from using braided line, striped bass fishing at the club with @bohannon4634. Good times, good times #calihunter#riplips#anglerstillwedie#fishing#shimano#sufix832#hunting#cheflife

Got my very first deer yesterday. I didn't think I was going to be able to get one this year. On opening week I fractured my ankle and was in a boot for a month. Luckily I got the boot off and was able to get this A-zone buck. #calihunter#californiahunting

Went out to do coyote hunting last night. I only had Donnie, one of my #airedales , with me because we can only take one dog out during deer season. I felt something smack either the side or underneath my truck on the way in. I didn't see anything in the road so whatever it was it must have ran into the side. It was a decent thud but is was dark and I didn't see what I hit. Truck was driving fine so I just kept going. ( I know... I should have stopped) About 5 miles down the road, the forest entrance was closed due to fire precaution so I let Donnie out for a minute near the entrance. Immediately, when I dropped the tailgate to the truck, he took off almost 300 yards. I called him back in because we were too close to the main road and I didn't want him to go into somebody's yard or get hit on the road. He loaded up and I followed the GPS track to see where he went. He usually doesn't take off like that so I figured he must have been on something. He had went off the dirt trail to the forest entrance after about 100 yards up a dried out riverbed. Down the riverbed were tons of hog tracks. I was tempted to let him back out the truck to see what he would find but decided to go ahead and turn back rather than poach. As I was driving back, I saw a dead sow on the side of the road near where I had felt something smack my truck. Can't see in the pic but it's snout was broken. (Bad camera phone image) Considering the rest of it looked fine and it was recently dead, this is likely what I hit. Thank God it wasn't head on, would have totaled my truck! Donnie is between 50-60 lbs for comparison... this pig was easily in the 200+ range. Donnie has been on tons of hogs in Georgia. I hope to get him on a Cali pig soon! #hoghunter#huntingterrier#huntingairedales#hogdog#airedale#roadkill#calihunter#californiahunting
