📷 last night’s meal: simple, nourishing foods, snapped with my phone once before devoting time together. Simple foods and flavors, locally grown and gathered and grilled and made with love by my mother. @airbnb sunsets and @seasidemarket strolls and walks on the beach to quell the soul, calm the mind, and bring a heart back to home. Weary bodies from traveling and bubbling emotions from a year of change, but there’s something magical about the practicalities of eating: food is medicine, and the space that surrounds an eating experience can transform its potency into a thing that goes beyond calories and content and curation. Grateful for these little moments between plans and places to just be together. Face masks and belly laughs and comfort foods. Miles may separate families, and meals can always bring that sense of closeness: snacks on FaceTime, coffeeshop text messages, off-beat Holidays together...and notebooks: mine and theirs, full of recipes and memories that may one day become something tangible. Until then, and always, I say a silent grace before my meals that says “I love you”.
Fantasmic! + one of my favorite Disneyland hidden gems 🎃✨ The Halloween Tree in Frontierland was planted in honor of one of Ray Bradbury’s novels and to recognize his longstanding contributions to Disney as a company (including one of my favorites, Spaceship Earth 🌐). I’ve been wanting to see this tribute to one of my favorite authors for years - what a special little corner of the park ☺️
Interview Tip 💡: Wear glasses to the interview "One recent study has found that job seekers are more likely to be hired if they wear glasses to their interview. According to the study by the College of Optometrists, about 33% of adults think people who wear glasses look more professional, while 43% believe that they look smarter."
