UPDATE: i have been sent home from hospital and i am happy to report the right (LEFT) leg was cut open... the verdict is still out as to what looks better... Robocop or The Mummy... personally i feel with Robocop there was much less pain.. but with The Mummy i only have to put a blanket on my foot and there is much less Velcro to content with... getting there slowly but surely i guess... again, thank you all for the calls, visits and messages... it takes a village and i am happy that you all are a part of mine... (I'm not naming individuals but you all know who you are πŸ˜‰) #onestepatatime

Same old. Bike work just to get the heart rate up for a while. Calf muscle is feeling better by the day. Walking on my heel most of the time but still an improvement. πŸ‘
A few miles on the bike again today. Pretty much all I can do. Was feeling a little lazy after 2 days of travelling and getting back to days after night shifts (and didn’t do any more arm/shoulder work). Triceps are still sore from yesterday so rest it is now to let this calf muscle continue to heal. I can definitely walk better on it today, mostly with my weight in the heel. Still any flexion or extension of my foot is painful and it’s sensitive to touch yet. Hoping these compression socks will aid in circulation and maybe help speed up the healing process. 🀞Probably wishful thinking but it’s worth a shot.

And this is where my Saturday morning work out turned to crap. Have managed to absolutely wreck my calf muscle, can't walk properly, can't stand and definitely no leg exercises until it's fully healed. I will be using the bike and Swiss ball to do upper body and, keep my sanity while it heals.

I need to take my own advice there. 😏 It has been evident throughout the past 11 months. Every time I have fallen off plan and started again I may have felt like I was starting over, but in reality my body was still healing and needed those breaks. Every time I've started again my leg has felt a little bit stronger. .

Today I did the MMA workout I did when my calf muscle popped and tore right before Thanksgiving last year. Even though I've been working out off and on the whole recovery period, I've always babied my leg. I've been paranoid about reinjuring the muscle. .

Today there were NO modifications. I got a lot of air in the squat jumps. I pushed hard. I kicked high.

I finished my workout today on cloud 9....and pretty dang sweaty. πŸ˜…

I'm still doing lots of stretching and just got a special massager to help break up the scar tissue. But I finally feel about 99% back together.
Taking breaks or resting, even unintentionally, can have benefits. So don't be too hard on yourself if you've fallen off track. Just keep trying. . .
