Continuing my good week...
this neon sculpture has sold to a private client in North London.
“Neon Orb I” was created in 2015 and was one of the first neon sculptures I made (the first with coloured glass).
Over the last three years it has been part of some great exhibitions;
@clubcaferoyal with @westcontemporaryart. It was part of the #lumiereldn light festival @parkplaza and more recently it was shown @trinityart.gallery with @degreeart. Plus a few @theotherartfair’s in between I’m sure!
Fit for a Royal Tea 👑
Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) was an Irish poet and playwright. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. He is best remembered for his epigram.
The establishment was originally conceived and set up in 1865 by Daniel Nicholas Thévenon, who was a French wine merchant. He had to flee France due to bankruptcy, arriving in Britain in 1863 with his wife, Célestine, and just five pounds in cash. He changed his name to Daniel Nicols and under his management - and later that of his wife - the Café Royal flourished and was considered at one point to have the greatest wine cellar in the world.
The café was the scene of a famous meeting on 24 March 1895, when Frank Harris advised Oscar Wilde to drop his charge of criminal libel against the Marquess of Queensberry, father of Alfred Douglas. Queensberry was acquitted, and Wilde was subsequently tried, convicted and imprisoned.

Big Ben.
The famous London Café Royal has always been a fashionable place where representatives of artistic and political elite liked to spend time. Over 150 years of existence it was visited by Virginia Woolf and Brigitte Bardot, Oscar Wilde and Winston Churchill, and now it is a stylish hotel overlooking the Big Ben.
The restorers took care of the historic building and preserved the original marble from Siena, using it for finishing the cafe. There is still a café left, you can still come here for a Cup of coffee, or even better to come to the weekend and enjoy the atmosphere of this oasis of comfort and peace in the center of London.
