We’re big believers in business led with hearts and not documents. Rethinking the customer service experience and bringing a fresh, human, and personable approach to legal processes is at the core of what we strive for here at Paperclip, which is why we’re honoured to share some rather exciting news.
Our very own Elizabeth Mah is one of the winners of @bivnews Top Forty under 40 award! We’ll be sharing more about this recognition soon, but in the meantime, scoop up the latest Business in Vancouver magazine to read more about the incredible group of game-changers and entrepreneurs making a splash in our community.
Congratulations to one of our founding Board Directors, Mark Starkey, for being recognized as one of the Top 40 Under 40 by Business in Vancouver.
This comes as no surprise to anyone who has met @starkey. He is a laser-focused visionary who provides horsepower to so many passion projects without seeking credit.
Thank you, Mark, for planting the initial idea for a legacy project with @cayfordz and thanks to @victory for bringing the #ForwardFoundation vision and (💜) into reality. 📸: @victory

Using a business profile will allow you to continue to engage on your posts, and you’ll also be able to easily schedule and publish directly to Instagram. ⠀
Purpose, to connect two opposite ends of the spectrum – business and personal life. This isn’t about bringing all your personal topics into the workplace, but rather doing business with your moral compass and implementing your set of values into your business practice. It’s about turning your passion into your purpose.⠀
In April 2017, there was YPO event presented by Ian Walker and Terry Holland, and hosted by Mike Rolands. The main topic of this event was based around having a greater purpose than profit. The key speakers of the event were Gary Hirshberg (Founder, Stonyfield Farms Yogurt), Bart Houlahan (Founder, B-Lab), Suzanne McDowell (Co-CEO, King Arthur Flour Company) and Joel Solomon (Co-Founder, Renewal Funds). The most powerful quality these individuals had in common was their drive for doing business with passion and purpose rather than doing business for profit and power.⠀
The resonance didn’t come from what they did but.. Read more @ https://buff.ly/2RyZHvG⠀

While content strategy is at the foundation of UX, a truly purposeful user experience is not about what we tell visitors on the website, it’s how simple and intuitive the overall flow and navigation is. 👊 ⠀
How about your website? Do you TELL people or do they find out for themselves how awesome you are? 😛 ⠀

When he first started @whalesafaris in his late twenties, Keith didn’t know anything about running a business, managing employees or optimizing operations - all he did know was that he loved the water and was a good guide. Now in its tenth year, Keith has led the company to be the premier marine eco tour operator on the west coast. Congratulations on being named to @bivnews Forty Under 40 Capt’n Keith!!! 🙌. We are excited to see what you’ll do in the next ten years!

I love the simple elegance of this bathroom we designed for one of our projects from this year. Our clients really loved the washed slate tile we picked for the floor, so much so that they wanted it on the walls, too! We gave them a herringbone pattern for the floor and a third offset brick pattern for the walls, to give two distinct looks and we love the result.

Being wealthy is more than just making money.
It’s also how much you have access to, what you can do with it and what happens if there is an unexpected tragedy. The choice you make to become wealthy depends on the plans, strategies, and structures you have in place. We wrote an article on the 3 critical stages of wealth that every successful entrepreneur must master. Our blog link is in bio!
Recently, I had the opportunity to go back to school and speak at an alumni panel to discuss career success. To me, really, it's all about getting your mindset right. As millennials, we get labeled as the most impatient generation :) which, I totally disagree with. However, I like to play that "impatient" card to my advantage.
That means learn how to master your job from day one, learn as much as possible, and start to overperform as a team player, as a leader - even if you are starting from the bottom of the corporation. Pretty sure I didnt fancy sorting the mails or being the receptionist for my office when I started out, but I had a goal in mind and I sticked with it. It's hard to not notice an overperformer and by becoming one, you'll latch on to bigger projects faster to prove yourself.
The best way to contribute to your team is if you see something that can be improved, speak up. Have an idea on how to cut out a step in a process, a lead potential, solve a team problem? Speak up. Even if your idea is rejected, it's okay. Go back, revise, and come up with a better presentation next time. Trust me, you'll be surprised at the pace of your growth if you're willing to test your idea with your team.
