This year’s temple didn’t have any nooks for privacy like the other temples I’ve visited, but I think that was the point — to bring all the grieving in the open. I loved the simplicity of the design and I’m glad they brought it together even though most of the joints ended up being reinforced because it lacked structural integrity. As one of my new artist friends this year told me: “an art year is a hard year.” Every art crew on playa has its unique struggles and complications, but that’s part of the beauty — the toil and difficulty of bringing meaning for others, to make people feel, and to commune through art. ✨ though it wasn’t an installation, my lounge project came with a lot of difficulties, but I know my experience wouldn’t have been as rich and rewarding without it. I am envisioning bringing my own installation next year; inspiration flows.
