Packing up my desk at work. It may look like junk to most, but there are lots of memories just in this little part of my desk collection. .
The Bullshit button was an awesome birthday gift from my dad. I keep it with my skunks because my dad and I both like the smell of skunk. 😋 If you have seasonal allergies like we do, you know the instant relief a skunk can bring to nasal passages. 😂🤗 .
I remember the day my skunk on the left sacrificed some of her innards for my best friend. We had to do emergency surgery (repair) to her nephew's stuffed animal. She's an organ donor of sorts. 😊
I made the name bracelet around the neck of the skunk on the right when i was my daughter's girl scout leader.
The itty bitty skunk was a gift from my baby girl. .
The reminiscing is helping me cope. ❤
So, we all know that creating a problem that doesn't exist so you can sell a product that will fix them is as old as the hills, right? Well, @doritos is trying it anyway. *sigh*
Saw this post on @bodypositivefitness_'s page. It's so true, right? Basically, most #womensmags are saying "here are all the ways you're getting life wrong because our messaging leaves you feeling like you need to whip your body into shape while simultaneously loving it AND playing domestic goddess." Then I spotted this cover for @preventionaus at the airport on Friday night (you'll see I've #fixedit ). What an ironic name for a magazine, when so many of its feature stories centre around messaging that has been shown (repeatedly, by actual science) to harm both physical and psychological health. Over 50 years of research shows that this type of #media directly contributes to negative #bodyimage , which can lead to #mentalhealth difficulties including eating disorders and a wide range of negative short and long term physical #health outcomes associated with #diet behaviours.
So I cracked out my brand-new #bullshitbutton and gave it a whirl. I think many of us could use one of these in our lives.
Thanks so much to @untrapped_au for awarding me the inaugural Crappy Award for my submission to the round-up of terrible diet advice from 2017. Jump on over to the #AllFiredUp podcast and have a listen to all the brilliant nominees.
