Krug was what made me fall in love with champagne. Our first encounter was at a dimsum lunch, when a wine connoisseur friend taught me about using different glasses to appreciate the beauty of krug. Started with a flute to allow bubbles gently attack the palate at the beginning before moving on to Montrachet glasses to enjoy the evolvement in next 1.5hrs. It was a bright sunny afternoon, overlooking the victoria harbour having shrimp dumplings. It was love at first sight. It was the first encounter, where I fell in love with Krug. This particular bottle was consumed at the new year night right after meeting the girl of my life, whom shortly after became my then-girlfriend, and my soon-to-be-wife. With Krug, the year started strong.
La Rioja 既作品自己一向情有獨鍾。904一向係極高性價比之作；vina ardanza可以講係其中一枝我最愛既casual wine。Fruit forward，紅果好出，好鮮明，酸度平衝，桶既vanilla，spice結合幾好靚，甘草，smooth tannin，round finish，firm structure and medium plus body. 開左十五分鐘左右已經ready，飲兩個半鐘都仲perform到無drop。變化當然無904咁精彩，但二百零蚊既酒黎講，絕對物超所值，最重要係基本上即開即飲，唔駛太多顧慮。做人，有時亦不過為開懷暢飲。#有酒今朝醉#bubblesandtruffles#rioja#hkig#larioja#viñaardanza#2007#wine#世事早已看透#chill#chilax#offwork#bs
Amazing #sparkling made with traditional method from #piedmont to kill the boredom from hot and humid air on Sunday evening. I'm always open when it comes to #wine . Never insist on #champagne but anything good - actually, anything made the traditional way. Close your eyes, sniff and sip, you will be amazed by this little gem. Everyone talked about the success of 2010 vintage, how Montrose was able to deliver, how dame de Montrose was the best it has ever made. Double decanted for two hours, lots of power and concentration. 2nd wine? Easily beat many first for a mediocre vintage. Still a baby just offering a glimpse of her potential. Drink nicely now but there are so many years ahead. Load up cases and wait for five to ten years... Or more? Look forward to the day when 2010 starts to show its real beauty.
First attempt with this 2012EP purchase. Opened up nicely in decanter after 1.25 hrs. Inviting fresh berries on nose, liquorice, plum, good balance of acidity and sweetness on palate, smooth tannin, medium to full body. Still young and see years ahead. Was worried about opening it too early killing infants. Turned out with proper decanting, the wine starts going into the drinking window. Excited about how it will evolve over the next 10years. Only issue is the tiny production. Love it.
