SHS 24:1 helical gears, figured I'd revisit them
They are durable and run fine in the right setup, but definitely aren't something I would use universally. I'll be going back to 12:1 gears in my ICS m4 but these were interesting to mess with again
On a side note, the notion that these are supposed to be quieter than regular gears is BS. Yes the helical teeth mechanically reduces side to side gear movement, but being higher ratio means the gears have to SPIN MORE which is way more influential. As always proper tuning is still paramount

Its incredible to me that my airsoft teching started as a procrastination method while I was in university and didn't want to write my papers. I did a few favours for friends because they liked my guns, then people tried their guns and liked them, and that's how it spread.
Now I've had my first client from a different continent, I am travelling around Canada to run tech courses, talk business, and play airsoft.
Thank you to my clients, friends, and other supporters who have allowed me to get this far.
Shh... she sleeps... TM 417 NGRS build complete. 322-325fps on 0.2g bbs, and ticking over nicely. Opted for a cylinder with a little more air volume than the original to get some nice range with heavy bbs. 0.28s were what i used before the tune up, 0.3g bbs are what il be using now. I was reaching 200ft easily when it was shooting 310fps with 0.28s, i should be clearing that easily now with room to spare. Going to lock it to semi only and keep with the DMR feel of the gun. Will be testing performance tomorrow in game, looking forward to it!
Day off today so here's one I made earlier.
Spectre came in having been shorted out, which melts the gate wires and causes quite a mess inside the gearbox.
The FET itself is pretty sturdy, so worked perfectly once it had been rewired with Mil-Spec Teflon wire.
