To be completely honest....
Updos didn’t come to me naturally.
I never really knew where to start, how to build a base and make a style that would last.
It was only once my friends started getting married and I got thrown into it that I began to get better (thanks guys 😘)
Because I wasn’t totally confident, that meant I had to do a lot of practicing. Anyone who had a spare minute in the salon I would make them sit down and let me practice. Or I would work on a mannequin on my slow days. I watched millions of tutorials and tried to re-create them... until FINALLY I found my groove. I found my style and it didn’t happen over night. It was hours and hours of work.
Sometimes I surprise myself seeing how far my updos have come. But it’s hours of dedication, practice and persistence. And it shows.
So just remember that whatever you want to get good at, to keep working at it and keep hustling. You just might surprise yourself 😘
Your brightness needs to be allllll the way up to enjoy this blush thoroughly 💡 Happy Monday beautiful people! Send in your (non crazy) friends and share the love 🖤 I wanna create more drama free hair like this 😂
This has been such a journey, but the perfect example of trusting the process. My client has been coming to me for well over a year and half and decided to dye her platinum blonde highlights with what she thought was more of a fuschia box color. It completely damaged her hair. Her ends were breaking off if you combed through them.
We started off with getting her to one all over color which is the top left photo. She really wanted to get back to having her blonde again. I warned her that this could be really damaging, but I would wash her out if things started go south. We also knew we would have to start doing some major trims to get hair back to a good place. We didn’t leave the foils in for very long. I did some really good deep conditioning treatments and cut length off, which you can see in the top right.
We were able to touch up her highlights and eventually lighten the ends back in August, which is the bottom left photo. The bottom right photo is from Saturday. We only touched up the top half of her highlights since she broke her leg a few weeks ago and she didn’t have a lot of time to spend at the salon. We’re now going towards a lavender color 🙆🏻🙆🏻🙆🏻 her hair is starting to feel more fuller and healthier again. We’re now able to just trim up the very ends of her hair.
She comes in every five weeks now to get her hair done. That’s the only way we’d be able to get her to this transition! She’s so happy that she’s been able to see results every time she comes in. I also posted the difference between when her hair was lavender last year vs after the box color 😭😭😭
