This little 7” x 7” piece on plywood was inspired by aerial views of terraced rice fields (random, but I’ve been studying these for an architecture project 🤓) It’s currently unnamed, trying to think of one but hopefully it will just pop in my head! 😬
Backwards order- started with a small color study on paper, then sketched in on a 16x20” board...the first image is the painting in progress. These flowers are wilted but I am not quite done with this painting. I will finish up making changes to the design to please my eye using the wilted flowers, and a photo I took with my phone. I am excited for fall but I am never quite ready for these stately flowers to fade. These wilted sunflowers in the vase are all that are left and it is time for me to embrace a new season...looking forward to next summer already though! #stilllifepainting#sunflowers 🌻 #paintingstudio
Painting sales have started becoming a normalized occasion in the studio and with multiple galleries, but when I get an email saying they sold my 7.5x10 ft wide aisle painting, you owe your gallery a huge thank you and shoutout. Thanks @masonfineart for your continued hard work! Im buying y’all drinks when I visit next.
“The Sun in all its glory”
One of the most majestic spectacles human is blessed with!
I’ve tried to describe the glorious sun, right at the time of dawn, when it is absolutely red, so gorgeously lit, just ready to share its warmth with the world, just ready to add a light to someone’s darkness!
As was read somewhere, “There was never a night or a problem, that could defeat sunrise or hope” - Bernard Williams
