🌟Catch me if you can! 🌟
I’m so excited it’s Friday, so excited to get Jim back from his travels and so excited it’s 18C/65F in NYC this Saturday, so I can wait to pull out our winter clothes a few more days! .
Where are you in the world? Are you gearing up for another very cold winter (wrangling the little ones into snowsuits! 🙈) or are you lucky to dress like this year round?
Week 4 - Fall
We didn't get to all the planned activities and I'm totally okay with that. We still had lots of fun and learning with all that we did do.
Extra Activity - Leaf Handprint
Supposed to be a Gross Motor - ABC Leaf Hunt
He was not into this. It was all I could do to get him to pick up and name 4 letters but the original intent was to have them spread around room to find. Definitely a little frustrating when the prep takes longer than the activity itself. Oh well....#momlife#toddlerlife
Fine Motor - Leaf Paper Mosaic
He had scissor practice to cut the little squares then we glued and stuck them on.
Brother Bear: a special movie for me as it’s the first movie I watched at the cinemas and my older brother had taken me to see it.
having two older brothers myself makes me relate so much to this movie, y’all may annoy each other and at times in the heat of the moment wish the worst things upon each other but when shit happens, you’re there for each other.
the moments Kenai shared with Sitka and Denahi resonate with me so much as I’ve shared similar if not the same moments with my own brothers. I have more than a 10 year age gap with my brothers and though we’re not children anymore they’re still as protective of me and honestly I love them for that. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Kenai’s bond with Koda is another reason that this movie is special, because it shows that you don’t have to be related to be family. -
I’ll never be able to figure out why Brother 🐻 is one of Disney’s underrated movies and why so many ‘Disney lovers’ haven’t even heard of this movie.
whatever the reason, this movie is so relevant in today’s time, instead of choosing to be divided and let our egos control what decisions we make, let’s choose togetherness instead because that is what will take us forward ❣️ ➡️ link to full vid is in my bio ⬅️ edited using @filmora_editor | @wondershare | - *no copyright infringement intended* •
Ok that’s a wrap for Day 1-4 for October Obliques 😬 I will be lying here until tomorrow morning....can someone bring me a pillow and maybe breathe for me cuz it hurts for me to do that 😭😬😂 3 minutes of weighted twists
3 minutes of side plank dips
150 plank dips
100 sit up twists
90 (each side) weighted wood chops
90 (each side) weighted side bends
Cameron do you like being a big brother?? “Oh ya sure” so in love with this picture and all it’s snuggles! I really wasn’t sure how cameron was going to take to his big brother role and having to share his world. So thankful he has transitioned so well. Don’t get me wrong he has his 2 year old meltdowns but it’s not over Maddox. It’s over the typical.... sock didn’t go on right... having to leave the park... you get the picture #brotherbear#love#snuggle
Week 4 - Fall
Days 3-5 got all jumbled with baby sister's arrival but we still got things done here and there.
Fine Motor - Leaf Lacing
He also did this Grandma during my doctor appointment. The first leaf I gave her had smaller holes and so she had to use the 2nd leaf and a bigger hole punch. It was still tricky with the yarn so I'm going to look for a plastic needle.
Gross Motor - 2 things because he improvised and made his partial leaf lacing a leaf kite flying in the windy day.
Then we did a leaf relay. He held leaves on his head and ran to drop them in basket.
Snack - Fall Trail Mix
I made this with raisins, dried cranberries, dried apricots, puffed cereal and pumpkin spice Cheerios.
Sensory - Invitation to Play Fall Play-Doh with leaf cookie cutters, pine cones, raffia, and leaf buttons.
Week 4 - Fall
Fine Motor - Leaf Wreath
We used our collection from the leaf hunt on Day 1, cardstock and some glue to make a festive fall piece.
Gross Motor - Leaf Catch
We threw leaves in the air and caught them in a basket.
Sensory Bin - Pinecone Color Sort
Pinecones and random yellow, orange and red items. Then pieces of construction paper to sort by color.
Extra Activity - Fall Matching
He did this with Grandma while I was at a doctor appointment. She sent me videos and he did great sticking with it and finishing the whole thing.
More books - no such thing as too many books.
