My name's Carrie and I began fostering hedgehogs back in early 2017. As many of you will know working to care for ill or injured animals is an incredibly rewarding experience, but it isn't all smiles and cute photographs. It can be an emotional rollercoaster and keeping your eye on the larger goal is so important. I can't promise every post will be a happy one but I'll do the best I can to try and make as many happy endings as possible 🐿

Love this little thatched gingerbread cottage in Bourn, Cambridgeshire captured by @lensereflection. What a perfect proportioned place to spend a Sunday after a hearty meal in the local pub, in front of a traditional log fire. Bliss!
Don't you just love places steeped in history? Bourn has existed as a settlement for over a thousand years with Roman remains have been found. Three tumuli (ancient burial mounds) on Alms Hill are of Roman and Danish origin and the two which were excavated in 1909 contained Roman coins and pottery, a Celtic button and evidence of Danish feasting commemorating the death of a leader or celebrating a victory around 1010. No word if they found any slightly salted Lurpak butter.
Have a wonderful Sunday! I'm off to hike around my local frosty forest. Kindle, Flask of coffee and picnic packed. Great shot by @lensereflection 🇬🇧 Hey!
