GRACE. Have you ever found yourself getting upset with yourself for failing or the way you look? I’ve been working on being gracious with myself and trust me, it’s been a process. One tactic I use is imagining I’m talking to myself when I was 5 years old. This cute little blonde haired blue eyed munchkin that nobody could get mad at 💁🏼‍♀️ I used to get upset with myself if I got a bad grade in university or if my skin was breaking out and I didn’t want to go out in public or if I had a bad soccer game and made a mistake. Imagine you’re talking to someone you love... would you yell at them and tell them they suck/ stupid/ not enough for making a mistake ? ... probably and hopefully not. Next time you start getting upset or frustrated with yourself, try to imagine you’re speaking with someone you love or imagine you’re speaking with the little kid version of yourself. This practice has allowed me to be more gracious with myself and I hope it may help you♥️

There’s nothing wrong with taking care of yourself .

It took me many years to realize that I’m actually unable to function at my full capacity if I haven’t gotten enough sleep, if I’m not eating enough veggies, if I don’t make time for fun. Taking care of myself doesn’t make me less of a world-changer; it makes me more of one .

Self-care is not weakness. Self care is the mark of a strong person. A person who will do great things without getting burned out . —Tiffany

Group public transport on Bali. It took me 3 years to dare and learn driving a bike, fyi. One of the biggest fears I had. Really imaginary...The bigger dangers lie in overthinking and lack of focus than driving itself.

I’ve spent the last few years reclaiming my power. Included in this process has been looking to amazing, congruent, badass women who have modeled for me what women in personal power ‘look’ like. I’ve read their books, listened to their Ted Talks, and watched their interviews 📚
^
I’ve been so moved by their words that I started recording some of my favorite quotes and want to share them! Each Wednesday I’m going to share one of my favorites to inspire myself and others. I’m calling this project ‘What She Said Wednesday’ to recognize their voices and share their wisdom 💖
^
Of course I chose a @brenebrown quote to share first. As a fellow mental health professional she inspires me to lead with my heart (rather than my head) in professional AND personal spaces — love her!🤗🙌

Wanna amp up your success? Your productivity? Your legacy? Be careful not to overcommit .

I often work with leaders who are involved in way too many things, and they wonder why they can’t be successful at any of them. As a recovering overachiever, I can completely relate to this. But if you want to make an impact & do something great, sometimes it takes focusing on only one or two things while you’re building something .

If you’re wondering why certain areas of your life are not working well, ask yourself if you’re involved in too many things .

Is it time to whittle down the things that you’re doing and focus on getting really really good at one or two things?

I have never been balanced, lived wholehearted, not even a bit. I have been told I come across as confident, vivacious, “have my shit together”, and it’s far from it. I have ups and downs, don’t like change, can be arrogant,
eat unconsciously (happy, unhappy, anxious...) and there is much more to that list. I often use the adjective “broken” to describe who I have been, who I am. It’s time for transformations to happen, and just be me, love me.#breneebrown #balance #allyouneedislove #compassion #transformation #discipline #noapologies #gardenerofmysoul #transformationahead #iamnottheonlyone

💥Be the change 💥
A few weeks ago, I hosted a brunch for women in my community at my house, and then we rented out a room at a movie theatre and watched “Oceans 8” together. I LOVED and cherished seeing women connecting & having the time and space to feel valuable & known. It was a dream in my heart to give women a place to connect, and it honestly wasn’t that hard to accomplish .

At one point during the festivities, a woman came to me and said, “you know, any one of us could’ve done something like this, but YOU dreamed It up and made It happen. “

That meant so much to me. I feel like it’s the theme of my life & something I love passing along to others—that sometimes we must BE THE CHANGE & stop expecting others to do It. I saw a need in my community & I figured out a way to make a small dent in helping that need go away .

I don’t say this to toot my own horn, but rather to encourage you all that dreams are not meant to stay inside—they’re meant to be born! They’re meant to live! And when you live out your dreams, others are blessed & encouraged because of It.

✨You’ve gotta start somewhere ✨

Ever find yourself sitting on a big idea, not sure of what to do next ?

A common theme that we’ve seen in our time coaching leaders is that people know how to dream, but not very many people know how to move past the dreaming stage into the doing stage. I think it’s often because they’re afraid to fail, and it’s just a lot more comfortable to sit on the ledge, dreaming, than It is to jump off—knowing that it’s possible that you might work hard & never actually achieve your dream .

We like to walk leaders through WHY they might be stuck, sitting on the ledge. Is It because they’re afraid to fail? Is It because they don’t know how to start? Then we help them make an action plan of that first scary step. We always say that there’s no “best time” to start. There are no ideal conditions in life. There’s no “best step” to take. Just take a step! You’ve gotta start somewhere! (Just START!)

Gratitude is everything.
Gratitude is everything.
Freedom is just another word for “nothing left to lose. “

Many people assume that freedom lies in living a comfortable life. But sometimes, dream chasing means putting it all on the line & taking a risk. It is in the risk that we are often set free from the regrets, the should’ves, the if onlys .

What if our forefathers had held back a little—not risked it all? It was in giving everything that we are able to have anything.

✨Don’t do it alone ✨

Got goals? Plans? The best advice we can give is to find like-minded people and partner with them toward making your dreams come true. We are better together !

Tag the person who you love to partner with.

✨Where there’s a will there’s a way✨ .

I spent several days last week feeling sorry for myself. Several unexpected things happened to me that kept me from achieving a goal that was really important for me. .

We’re talking a HUGE goal. Something I poured my blood, sweat and, tears into, and suddenly, I realized that a few unforeseen circumstances were going to keep me from achieving it! .

It was so easy to feel sorry for myself—to take on a victim mentality and throw the towel in. Because let’s face It. Sometimes life gives you a bad wrap & there’s nothing you can really do about It. .

But somewhere along the way, I realized that I could either sit around feeling sorry for myself, or I could take control of the things that I COULD change! I could change my attitude. I could discipline my disappointments. I could decide to extend my timeline for my goal. I could work harder to make up for time lost. So even though I couldn’t control everything, there were lots of things that I could do! .

As we start to make steps toward the things we CAN do, our brain actually becomes more creative! It starts to try to figure out how to make something happen! This is a proven fact! .

Don’t slip into that familiar, defeating victim mentality. Your dreams and your purpose is too important to let circumstances dictate who you will be and what you’ll do with your life! Remember, where there’s a will, there’s a way!

Still in my life experience. I told you that I’m currently studying psychology and coaching and lately I got myself a mentor. And she is kicking my butt. The only way to learn is to put in practice. DOING ACTION. And damn is HARD. I’m always talking to you about learning to love myself and guys, that takes more than looking into the mirror and say I’m beautiful. Loving yourself is also being brave enough and dig into yourself and do the work. And 1 word is coming out. #vulnerability # I have learned that vulnerability wasn’t just to say what you were thinking to somebody but it was merely learning to trust and love yourself in order to be able to recognise to whom to be able to be vulnerable first. And when we love ourselves , we are able to love others , which mean set clear boundaries and better compromises . And you know what is the opposite of vulnerability ? It is “controlling “. So , you must trust yourself to be able to let go your emotions . Is it easy ? For somebody like me is damn HARD. But work in progress, it is so worth it . 1 example of vulnerability : saying sorry to somebody . How would it be for you? .

“You take delight not in a city's seven or seventy wonders, but in the answer it gives to a question of yours.” Italo Calvino .

In my early 20s, I decided to take a huge leap and move to New York City for a time. I didn’t know anyone there & I moved all by myself. For being such a people-person, I was taking a huge risk! .

But, as the quote above so adeptly says, NYC answered so many of my inner questions. Deep questions about what I truly believe about myself, others, & God. About who I was made to be. About my failures & flaws and about my strengths and abilities. Being alone in NYC caused me ample time to rediscover the inner workings of my brain. .

Was it scary? Absolutely. Was It worth It? Looking back 20 years later—that season in NYC was one of the most formative seasons of my life. .

Bottom line: take the risk! Do something amazing! You’ll thank yourself in 20 years. .

✨It Comes With a Price✨ .

Of all the dreams I’ve had for my life, nothing comes close to my desire to be a wife and mom. And even though I hoped and prayed for those things for so many years, and while the people in this picture represent my greatest dreams coming true, I can still find myself frustrated and tired in my role of wife and mother at times. .

But as with everything we accomplish in life, there are sacrifices to be made along the way. You can’t become a body builder without tons of sweat equity. You can’t build a business without facing opposition or rejection. You can’t be a mother without giving up your rights to doing whatever you want whenever you want. .

I worry about our generation, who can tend to believe that things should just happen. Good things should just come their way. And when they encounter opposition, It must mean that it’s time to give up. .

The most valuable things are the things we worked the hardest to accomplish! When opposition and hardships come, what if we decided to dig deep and keep going, instead of giving up. Our greatest accomplishments come with a price. But when I look at this picture, I don’t remember all the sleepless nights, the pain of childbirth, the frustrations that I feel on a daily basis. All of that is very real! But when I look at this picture, I just feel really blessed.

✨Education✨
.
Yesterday, while coaching a group of leaders, I realized that all of us seemed to be stuck—not sure what to do next. We were all feeling bad about ourselves for being stuck, which led to feelings of inadequacy, which led to inaction! It’s amazing how quickly that negative thinking begins to spiral downward! .

We all agreed that we needed to figure out where we were feeling stuck in our goals and educate ourselves about how to get out of that place! In the modern era of YouTube, social media, and e-books, there are ample sources of education to help us all get out of whatever is keeping us feeling stuck.
There’s no need to feel like a failure when we don’t know what to do next in our journey. That only leads to a downward spiral! Instead, let’s assume the roll of a student, crack open a book, put on a podcast, watch a video...and LEARN!

Self-doubt is not just a pesky annoyance, it’s a killer! It literally takes away LIFE from us. •
•
Today, I woke up feeling discouraged about some goals I’ve set for myself, realizing they make take longer to accomplish than I’d originally hoped. And that’s when self-doubt set in. “I knew I wouldn’t reach that goal on time!” “I knew I didn’t have what It took,” and other similar thoughts filled my brain. After a while, those pesky little thoughts took root & I believed them to be true. I went from realizing that I may have to push back my timeline to thinking I would never accomplish my dream within just a few short minutes.
•
•
Have you ever been there? Letting pesky thoughts of self-doubt become the loudest thoughts in your head?
•
•
I’ve learned, when those thoughts start to creep in, to take a minute and look at reality. In reality, this month was full of vacation, parties, kids getting out of school, and other things that just caused me to be a little behind on my goals. It happens! Instead of feeling like I’ll never reach my goal, I just need to readjust a little. It’s no biggie. Just life!
•
•
Don’t let your inner voice tell you you have no power. Just readjust. And give yourself some love. 💕You deserve It.

ogg no. 144 in June I had trouble enjoying my next green obsession.
I kept thinking about this story that most of you know. About children being separated from their parents some 70 years ago. Why was it possible then? Because they were not children, they were the offspring of untermensch. So, no problem.
Farfetched?
Well, I certainly do hope so.

We must never stop pursing relationships while in heavy pursuit of our personal dreams. Because without friends, there will be no one to celebrate with as we cross the finish line.

The holy grail of modern living - a smoothie! Today its mango, because it's in season, cinnamon (bless you, cant live without you), cocoa nibs, sesame, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, oats and fresh spinach for some raw chlorophyll goodness. Damn, lets harness those superhuman powers! :-)

As we start a new week it is the perfect opportunity to connect to our values. I (Allie) have recently been re-reading "Rising Strong" by Brené Brown. One of my core values has always been service. I find I always have felt pulled towards helping professions and opportunities to help others. In contrast to this though, I have often found myself resistant to ask for help from others. This quote made the flaw in my logic crystal clear though. I can't value helping others if I do not value needing help. My short-term goal is to ask for help from two different people this week, which will move me in the direction of my value. What are your goals for the week?

One of the biggest tragedies we encounter while working with leaders is watching someone grow tired & give up along the way—and they never get to experience the rewards of being on the other side.
•
•
This weekend, I took my 4 kids on a long car trip. It was harrowing at times 🙄. Lots of seemingly pointless driving & boring scenery. Lots of bathroom stops, “are we there yet”s, & tears.
•
•
And then, It was over. And my kids looked around and saw white sands & blue water. We were at the beach! The long, hard, frustrating road trip ended in the most beautiful beach vacation. But in the midst of the journey, my kids couldn’t imagine what joy awaited them on the other side.
•
•
Are you working toward a goal or a dream and finding hardships, discouragements, or obstacles along the way? My encouragement is to stay the course. Talk to someone about your frustrations. Stop hanging out with negative people who don’t believe in your dreams. Set a tangible goal or “why” in front of you (like a picture or a dream board) that motivates you to keep going, even when it is SO HARD. •

I almost cried, when I turned play yesterday! It was her own voice coming out of my speakers!! Soooo comforting 💓 And fun. And wise. Yesterday was a tough one. Because as she says in the book: rising after falling is not only about the happy ending of rising. Rising is about the PROCESS of rising! The three steps forward and then two steps back. All the discomfort and pain on the way. All the garden parties you have to let go (the case yesterday -and it HURTS!). And I realize that I often share these moments on IG. And I know it can cause discomfort for some people feeling parts of my pain. But my pain is always lessened by sharing. And - this is major - pain is only pain! It hurts. But that's okay! That's not the worst part of pain! The worst part of being in the rising-process is the shame and the actual daily missing out of having a truly free choice of how to spend your days (You know what I mean if you've been there... always having a free choice but the frame is so very different after a crash). And often I don't share for my own sake or needing of you to understand or feel pity. I realize that I share to cast LIGHT on the process of rising after falling after my heart break, after my concussion ... There wont be silence here until I can announce the happy ending of: "and then I turned my challenges into gold and became a therapist learning others what I've learned myself". I won't twist everything into something positive (even though I often do because I'm an optimist by heart). No, I'm here to keeping this real! To share ups and downs. Because I have to. Not because I feel like it, but because I feel guided to... So! Thank you in advance for extending my vocabulary and practice in rising @brenebrown 💓 I can't wait to cry some more during your book! (And this also goes out to the amazing tripe of @medicalmedium - you all know what I'm talking about here! About taking our lives back one herb and fruit at a time! Thank you all for being here!!) 🍉🍉🍉 Og den går ud til alle jer med rystede hjerner, angst, stress, diagnoser, hjertekval og sorg: vi rejser os. Langsont. Eller hurtigt. Og hjælper hinanden op. Jeg ELSKER vi hjælper hinanden op! #risingstrong

Ok, this is awesome. I’m such a @brenebrown fan and think this concept is great. I think I will put a basket out the next time I get together with friends or family and have everyone drop their phones in it! 📸@brenebrown and she wrote: #Repost

Ellen turned 19 this week! My #tbt is this basket from her 13th birthday.
.
The girls complained but a couple of weeks later Ellen told me that one of her friends was mad because her mom didn’t pick up phones at her party.
Hang up and hang out! That goes for grown-ups too. #azmindfulmoms #breneebrown

42 years of life have been good to me. Yeah I’ve got through ish,! What good will it do to complain, moan and be a victim? In fact, till this very day, this very moment, I can confidently say that I’m becoming stronger, more confident and happier. My nay sayers are apologizing, my friends are uber supportive, the connection with my children is crazy good, I’m learning new lessons, I’m dreaming bigger than ever, and I’m attracting amazing things in my life. Far from perfect and yet perfectly imperfect in EVERY way!!

🔹MAKE TIME🔹
•
•

Ever dissected the term, “make time?” The other day, it struck me that time, while intangible, is something that we can MAKE. •
•

We all have 24 hours in a day, and yet some people accomplish so much more than others. Why? Because some people have acquired the skill of MAKING time. •
•

In other words, these people are pro-active. They take charge of the minutes and hours in the day instead of letting time take charge of them. •
•

Healthy eating is something that many people say “I don’t have time for that.” It’s easier to grab a box of goldfish crackers for a snack instead of finding & peeling something living to eat—an orange, pear, or carrot slices. But MAKING time to give my kids healthy snacks is important to me, so I MAKE time for It. •
•

I feel that the antidote to feeling powerless to the effects of time is to re-calibrate what’s important to us and learn the art of time management—MAKING time to do the things that are most important. •
•

What’s something that you make time for?

🔹The Lesson of the Hand-stand🔹

Today, I was swimming with my kids, watching them do hand-stands in the water, & I remembered how much I LOVED doing hand-stands at the pool when I was a kid. I wondered if I could still mount a successful under water hand-stand. •
•

The adult in me said, “you’re too old to do something like that. And everyone will see you. What if you make a fool out of yourself? And you’ll mess up your hair!” But the kid in me laughed and said, “come on! You only live once!” •
•

So I mounted my half-cocked, embarrassingly sideways underwater hand-stand. And guess what? In that moment, I couldn’t care less about what others may have thought about me, about my messed up wet hair, or about the un-poised nature of the hand-stand. Instead, I felt like the queen of the pool! I had done something embarrassing—I’d taken a risk and had a ton of fun. I literally was so proud of myself for not listening to the fear of man, but instead listening to the risk taker inside of me. •
•

What if I’d let the grown up me call the shots this time? I’d have missed out. I’d have felt a little bit smaller. A little bit weaker. And I’d be in a little bit of a deficit next time I wanted to do something brave.
•
•

This small act might seem insignificant, but what we’ve observed is that the people who achieve their dreams and make waves in this world often do so by making lots of small, seemingly insignificant choices NOT TO BE AFRAID that end up adding up to being something world-changing. They flex their bravery muscles when the stakes are low so that they have what it takes to do something huge when the stakes are high. •

The Steps we take create the journey . Sometimes we see people that live in a very small world . Making round trips around a very small universe . They stay there out of either contentment or fear. When my world is tipsy turvie, I shrink it and narrow my focus . I go inside my head and ask very hard questions about what I truly want. When my world is calm and peaceful I expand it by opening my circle of friends and whole life experiences. I allow the opportunity to be vulnerable to surface . Clarity is given to those that are willing to ask the hard questions either of them self or someone else. Remember you control your steps ... Always .
Motivation Monday. Question 1 what do I really want? Question 2 can I make the first step? Your choice . My question 3 this week is how do I want the rest of 2018 to play out? Pretty sure by asking the question I have a better chance of my life being fuller and more enjoyable . Sometimes we get lost on our own personal journey by being distracted or by making an excuse . It is 100% up to us to redirect our focus back to oneself . No one knows you like You do. Who is better than you? Nobody!!! Now go slay it !!! Happy Monday beautiful people 😘

🔹A Higher Perspective🔹
•
Ever noticed how clean & beautiful things look while peering out the window of an airplane? Sometimes you have to back away from something to see the bigger picture—for things to look simpler and to make more sense. •
•

We love to help people understand the importance of seeing from different perspectives, and one of the best ways to do this is to stop looking from only your eyes, and ASK other people what they think about what you’re doing (whether that’s a project you’re working on, the way you’re building your business, your parenting style, etc.)! •
•

We’ve noticed that one of the main reasons why people don’t ask for other people’s perspective is FEAR. “What if someone criticizes me or doesn’t understand what I’m doing?” “What if they say something hurtful?”
•
Those thoughts are valid. But it’s important to ask ourselves what’s more important—the fear of “what if” or the hope of “what could be”? •
•

Ask trusted, safe people in your life for their perspective about what you’re doing, and you might be surprised at how much It helps you!

We are huge proponents of taking personality and aptitude tests! It’s so important to know who we are, what our strengths are, what we excel in—what makes us “extra.” The more we know about ourselves, the more we can learn to appreciate our uniqueness! And THAT is one of the things that makes us unstoppable!

🔹Values Must Drive You🔹
•
Some people spend their lives being swayed back and forth by others’ dreams, others’ goals, others’ convictions, but they never figure out exactly what matters to them. What they’re passionate about. What moves them. What their VALUES are. In my opinion, this is a great tragedy because they were never able to make the waves that they want to make in this world!
•
I think it’s vitally important to think through the 2-3 things that are most important to you—what things you most value and want to spend your time, energy, and resources on. •
For me, (Tiffany), I highly value being able to spend time with my 4 crazy kids, offer them fun & memorable experiences, and let them know that they’re important. •
After I figured out what I value the most, It really changed the course of my life. I quit my job, moved to a different home, started an at-home business, quit going to time-sucking activities, and many other things! Once my values started to drive my choices, my life took on a much more meaningful and personal path.

We have big dreams, and we want to make waves in this world. But somewhere along the way, we realized that someone has to pay for these dreams. 😊 And I don’t know about you, but we aren’t independently wealthy with a trust fund or some sort of hefty inheritance. Most of us have to fund our dreams the old fashioned way—fund raisers, asking for donations, or working really hard to raise the money ourselves.
•
We’ve found that many wise dreamers decide to tackle the dream-funding by starting some sort of business. In fact, that’s exactly what we at Waves in the Making did. •
Having your own business seems so dreamy at times. No boss. You make the rules. No lack of vacation time. So why doesn’t everyone take the plunge to become entrepreneurs?
•
Because being an entrepreneur takes a TON of guts! Think about It. When you’re an entrepreneur, whether you rise or fall depends on YOU. There’s no corporate office, no employer, no co-workers to blame. In short, being an entrepreneur means you’re betting on YOURSELF. And not very many people are willing to do that. •
So if you’re one of the brave, the few, the strong—the entrepreneur, double tap below because we want to celebrate you!! Or tag an entrepreneur who you respect!

🔹Fail to plan = plan to fail🔹
•
I’m headed to the beach in a few days, and I’ve spent weeks planning. What’s the quickest route to get there? Which beach is the least crowded? Where can I rent a pink surf board? 😝
•
I know that my time at the beach is limited, so I don’t want to waste a second doing research once I get there. I want to make every second count.
•
In the same way, I spend the first part of every week planning, setting goals, and then mapping out action steps to make those goals a reality. I know that my time each week is limited, so a PLAN helps me move my dreams/goals forward a bit every week. I put a plan together so I don’t waste precious time. Otherwise, when I fail to plan, I plan to fail!

🔹It’s lonely at the top🔹
•
Sometimes it’s hard to be the leader—out in front, by yourself, in charge. It can be hard to know who to relate to, who to talk to about struggles with those that you lead, and who will fill you up you as you’re pouring into others. •
We really encourage our leaders to GET CONNECTED to other leaders. We put people in groups. We encourage discussions & forums.
•
See, connection is the antidote to lone leadership. And lone leadership is wrought with problems like poor decision making, short sidedness, and burnout. •
If you’re feeling lonely because you’re at the top somewhere, we encourage you to link arms with other leaders and encourage each other, be vulnerable with them, and let them in! Believe us, it’s a much better way to lead.

I love days when a legit item on my to do list is “gratitude crafts for therapy group.” ✔️
I’ve had the privilege of spending my Monday nights for the past ten weeks with some of the coolest, bravest, and most inspiring humans as we’ve ventured into the land of #intuitiveeating, #healthateverysize, #bodypositivity, #vulnerability, #perfectionism, and what it means to be human. We’re going on summer break now but I hope to have more group offerings in the fall. 👍🏼

Wild and free 💚A little gallery to remind myself of the time I went to the Grand Tetons and climbed down a rock face on a dress to be close to the water.
As I approach 30 I want to capture the woman I am becoming and approach life with a grateful heart. I want to pause more, speak kindly to myself and chase my wildest dreams. So often it’s easy to feel the presence of “not enoughness “. I would never say to the mountains or the flowers or flowing waters, “you’re not enough; this moment is incomplete” so with that perspective it seems silly to think of myself in any other way than lovely.
Many more adventures, laughs, barefoot-hair down moments are in my future. .

Happy Monday, everyone! •
Do you ever have Monday blues? It’s true that Mondays can thrust us right back into normal life, and can even make us feel like our dreams are a distant & unattainable, looming out there in the nebulous future. •
But we’ve learned that dreams aren’t usually something that just “happen.” They’re usually comprised of lots of little choices, working through lots of lunch breaks, turning off the TV at night to work on our dreams. In other words, they’re usually something that take dedication and diligence to work on even in the midst of normal life. •
What action steps are you taking, big or small, to work towards your dreams?

Singing workshop with Indian guru of kirtan, devotional music Sudanshu Sharma. The guru taught us how singing opens our physical and energetic pathways and if we practice singing in a specific way we can assist our intuition to be stronger. It has to be done during night hours :)

🔹Thankfulness🔹
•
I’m convinced that thankfulness has magical powers. You see, thankfulness grounds us. It gets us out of our head. It replenishes hope. It’s almost an aphrodisiac—causing happy thoughts and peace to flow. •
When someone we’re working with is struggling with something that’s keeping them from making waves, we like to say, “let’s start with thankfulness and see what happens.” •
Just today, we were working with someone who was facing a challenging situation. So she decided to stop and practice thankfulness, and almost instantly, she was able to think more clearly and came up with an amazing solution!
•
Let’s take the thankfulness challenge—comment below with something you’re thankful for!👇🏻

🔹Your Why Must Be Personal🔹
•
This guy! He’s my husband (hello 12 year anniversary!), partner, father to my children, and best friend. •
4 years ago, I started a business to take some pressure off my husband. He’s an amazing provider, but I wanted to help out. Early on, I was motivated to work hard, sacrifice, and get out of my comfort zone because I wanted to help HIM.
•
But at some point, I realized that having a “why” that is based on helping someone else doesn’t ultimately motivate us very hard for very long. •
Brenee’ Brown says that we can never love anyone more than we love ourselves, and I started to realize that my “why” must be personal, or else I won’t stay motivated. I don’t care how selfless and giving we are as people, it’s human nature to need to protect and take care of ourselves first. It doesn’t make us a bad person! It makes us human. •
Are you striving toward a goal? Have you established your “why,” or motivating factor? Does It center around another person?
•
I encourage you to take a look at your why and make sure that it’s personal to you. And don’t feel guilty about it! This will motivate you far longer and will help you work harder!

Tuesdays are my day off and I made a list a mile long of things to get done today. But then I thought back to one of our group topics last night - letting go of exhaustion as a status symbol and anxiety as a lifestyle (thanks, @brenebrown!) - and made some pancakes instead of getting right to work. 🥞 And you know what? Sitting there and eating them without distraction was HARD. I kept thinking of everything on that list and that I should hurry up... or look at my phone or check my email or text that person back. But I told myself I could do those things when I was done. And wow, sometimes I forgot that food eaten with full attunement is just so much tastier! ✨So recap - take a breath, add some time for stillness to that to do list, and meet yourself with kindness when it inevitably doesn’t all go according to plan. 👍🏼

Last Wednesday I made magic happen....I was speaking and singing...huge breakthrough. How much determination, self-belief and facing the fears with the upright chest are necessary to step up our game. Not completely prepared, not in control, showing up, imperfect... Relying on passion, love and talent...And the result is entering a new space of being, new elevated space of constant creation of magic, the higher, inspired self...where fear is only noise...and where greatness is reality
