It has been a great journey these past few years seeing how people are choosing to make a difference in the world. Going green in hip and cool. This is wonderful as long as it can be backed up by education. Like how yoga is great for the mind and body but being a hip new multi billion dollar industry it can also do harm. Yoga pants and yoga mats are not good for the environment. Yoga is still helping people be in touch with themselves creating a strong foundation to build their perspectives on.
Fads, fashions, pop culture and popularity have power, any celebrities who influence these aspects of media and the populous are coming forward. They are using their popularity to educate the masses, to shed light on important environmental and humanitarian issues. This gives me so much hope and has been a motivating factor for me to join the movement in my own way.
Congratulations South Africa
1st Runner Up MISS UNIVERSE 2018
Tamaryn Green, @tamaryngreen from Paarl in the Western Cape, was crowned Miss Universe South Africa 2018 on Sunday, May 27. At the time of winning the title, she was a sixth and final year medical student at the University of Cape Town with her sights set on specializing in pediatrics once she qualifies. She has always been passionate about making a positive and progressive difference in the lives of others. She grew up being exposed to two very different worlds: the fortunate and less fortunate. Tamaryn wants to assist in bringing those two worlds together. Actions speak louder than words; she wants to be a voice to those who cannot be heard, a servant and role model to South Africans and to the people of the world at large. In August 2018, Tamaryn launched her #breakthestigma campaign where she announced she will be focusing on tuberculosis as her official year of reign campaign. Tamaryn herself also spoke publicly for the first time about her own battle with TB in 2015. The campaign focuses on eradicating TB by 2030. Tamaryn is athletic and loves hiking and swimming as she believes exercise helps with both physical and mental health. Her favourite quote is from Mahatma Gandhi: 'Be the change you want to see in the world.'
It’s not all wine and travel and pretty dresses. Sometimes, the complete disregard of metal health still in our 2018 (2019!) society still takes me by surprise. And I speak as someone who is not a fan of plastering trigger warnings everywhere - there needs to be a real recognition that any mental illness can be as crippling as any physical illness, and people with mental conditions do NOT throw it out as a simple pass.
This NEEDS to be talked about precisely because it is hardly ever discussed. Also unlike a physical illness, any form of mental condition can dramatically alter a person’s social behavior - which, if the people around you don’t know about it, can compound the problem and makes you feel even more isolated.
Kanye West has been one of the most outspoken celebrities for mental health, and this weekend Pete Davidson (social media accounts since deleted) posted about suicidal thoughts. It’s NOT self-aggrandizement - if it’s attention-seeking, yes, it’s seeking understanding in too rough a world. If you’ve been depressed before, please don’t be the one to throw stones - because you were strong and recovered, don’t belittle anyone else’s experience. The human brain is so little understood to this date - even anti-depressant dosage is a trial and error guessing game! As much as the psychiatrist can recommend the right chemicals, nobody can actually explain the neural pathways that lead someone to abandon their will to life.
In a toxic relationship that ended earlier this year, my ex who knew about my BPD would comment on how “idiotic” it was for people to cut themselves without actually committing suicide.
This is my left arm and these are the only scars that are still clearly visible after several years. I didn’t want to die, I just wanted the emptiness to end. A month of suicide watch while 90% of my social and work life I managed to keep somewhat functional.
What does it take? What does it take for the world to be a little more understanding? Nobody wants to have mental conditions - but it is how I, and you, and we, live with it that counts. #mindfulness#liveintentionally#selfawareness#forgive#spirituality#understanding#hope#strength
It doesn’t look it here, but my body has adrenaline coursing through its veins.
Clara had a specialist appointment this morning, and from previous experiences, it was preeeeetty likely she was absolutely going to loose her shiz. Crying, clinging to us, “no Mummy” in between the sobs.
My anxiety built through out the morning, as I could no longer push it away and ignore it. It was in front of me now. My mind going back to when I was little, and the everyday battles that I faced. Memories came flooding back, and I was terrified my little one was going to feel what I used to. That right there is what gets me. I remember the crying and the screaming, the holding on to Mums clothes for dear life. Heart and mind racing, with the feeling of pure dread. I know, I KNOW in my mind that my kids experiences are not my own. I KNOW that they don’t have my anxiety condition. And yet...when faced with the slight possibility that one of them might feel an ounce of what I did, I can’t let go of it.
She was fine. She didn’t want to be there, and was nervous and shy and clung to James, but she was fine. We got back in the car and the brick that was sitting on my chest exploded in to adrenaline and my body is currently an anxious, agitated mess.
So I am taking a lot of deep, mindful breaths. Doing a lot of self talk. Telling my brain that everything is fine, and if it could please let the rest of my body know that, that would be ace.
"These mountains that you are carrying, you were only supposed to climb." - @najwazebian .
After relistening to a few podcasts this weekend by @lewishowes, @edmylett, Najwa, @andyfrisella and @deangraziosi. Concerning mental challenges - hence my lack of activity this weekend on social media.
Do you carry burdens, challenges, problems, and more with you as you move forward in life?
These are those proverbial mountains.
It's easy to do, and do them both consciously and unconsciously - for a various number of reasons.
More than likely we do this for safety - so we can go hide inside ourselves and shut everybody out - including those who care for you and want nothing but to see you thriving and happy.
But these mountains are meant to be faced head on, progressed through (climbed), and overcame and NOT meant to become a burden that hinders growth and progression.
The fight or flight response mechanism...
Besides, don't you want to be happy and thriving? Do you not want to make others happy to both know you, to be in your presence, and more?
Then learn from these challenges, problems, and events that burden you and use them for growth and progression.
Growth is painful, it makes you uncomfortable - but that means you're living.
And if you're fortunate enough, you'll find someone/a group of people who will stick by your side - unconditionally through it all.
I know, I may come across or seem like a hypocrite for this - as it to some I'm just stuck in mud spinning my wheels. Especially the past few months (if not longer) with respect to my mental health stability.
But, I will not stop from trying to get better!
So stop carrying those mountains and climb them instead...
I Love you all, gratitude and appreciation for each and every one of you!
How can we still be ourselves when we feel isolated or judged by those around us? This is undoubtedly one of the hardest things to master in life. To basically not give a shi* what others think! One thing I have learned which particularly helps empaths in this situation is that we are not responsible for anyone around us. We may feel their pain, but we don’t need to hold it inside of us. We may feel like an outsider externally but inside we continue to carry the greatest strength. This time of year, social anxiety runs high with festivities and parties, but don’t lose sight of yourself amongst the tinsel. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it’s hard not to be influenced by the surrounding hype. The most helpful thing I’ve learned is to listen to my inner voice like I would listen to a child, checking for when I may need to leave a noisy room or step away from family and just breathe into my heart. Beautiful souls, don’t forget to listen to your heart during the next few weeks. I’m making it the most important act of my day. If you need some extra support, don’t hesitate to reach out to a trusted someone. I’m always here too. Sending my love to whoever reads this 💋x
🌿Why CBD is For Everyone🌿🌿 If you are healthy or if you deal with symptoms from various illnesses you may have, CBD oil is needed for our Endocannabinoid Receptor System within our bodies!!
About 30 years ago, the Endocannabinoid System was discovered. Essentially, this is a communication system between the cells in our bodies. The Endocannabinoid System and its Receptors are found throughout our body... in brain, organs, connective tissues, glands and immune cells. In each tissue, the cannabinoid system performs different tasks. but the goal is always the same: homeostasis.
Homeostasis basically means the goal is for the body to be able to take care of itself despite what's going on externally. Self-healing.
When our cells are no longer communicating, they don't know where and how to repair our bodies. 🌿🌿IN COMES CBD OIL🌿🌿 When we introduce the cannabinoids back into our systems, our cells are able to communicate again. Now, when the body is injured in some way, the cells know where to go and how to fix it!
This is why you see testimonials for everything from anxiety to PTSD to autoimmune disorders to GERD to IBS to fibro to headaches and the list goes on and on. It's not that the oil just knows where to go...it fixes the communication system throughout our body so it knows where and how to heal itself.
P.S. CBD is attracted to the CBD-2 receptors in our body. THC is attracted to the CBD-1 receptors in our brain (and makes us high). Our bodies actually produce its own cannabinoids, with a good diet rich in omega 3 fatty acids
Diet + CBD = Benefits to our Body
The longer you're on it the better it gets, and remember some chronic issues take longer to fix....but it will work the issue out. Keep taking it! YOU are worth it! You can find more info here👉Preventative CBD Solutions

This motif is called Karjagad, which means universe, because its patchwork pattern is said to resemble a map of the universe. The work kar is a javanization of the Dutch word kaart meaning chart or map. Many people, foreign scholars and Indonesians alike, have thought that the work kar was an abbreviation of the Javanese sekar, meaning flower. As a result people have seen all kinds of mystical or magical meanings in design.
This motif is another example of where the designs @bulebule.official has drawn inspiration from. This is also one of my favorite motifs as if holds much power from a number of shamanic, mystical, magical or symbolic perspectives. Each motif within the greater mixed of patterns has its own story. Each story has depth, meaning and “power” of the one wearing said patterns embodies the symbolic meaning from its origin.

Stereotypes. We live in a world that is full of them. Our society is so easily influenced and judgemental, which is what creates our everyday stereotypes. Many people I'm sure grew up with the stereotype 'boys have to be strong and girls are the ones that are weak.' This is obviously not true, but society has made many of us believe it is. If we take a look at our media today we see men who are tall, muscular, fit, strong and "handsome" as society likes to call them. Why can't we find a diverse group of men, why do they have to look like this? This is a stereotype. This is what people expect from a "real" man, and many men themselves look up to be like this. Which isn't right. Men get insecure when they can't fit in with this structure they're supposed to be, and sometimes try to force themselves to get into it. They get into bad habits and eating disorders, that they are so driven to achieve. About 17% of men are on extreme diets, while 3% binge eat. Binge eating is when you over eat. They do this because they feel they're too skinny, and need to gain more weight to grow muscles. 4% purge after eating, which adds on to the fact that 1 in 10 men have anorexia. However 3% also use performance enhancing drugs, starting at an adolescent age. Why do these men and boys put themselves through such dangerous measures, just to be someone they're not. We need to help them understand they can be themselves and still be MEN. -

Sometimes it takes an overwhelming breakdown to have an undeniable breakthrough. ✨
Today I had a newsflash moment. A moment where I stopped and realized I hated the direction my life has been going the past few weeks. My nutrition and overall lifestyle haven’t been where they need to be. I’ve had soda and alcohol much too often, when these were both completely out of my life for years. I’ve allowed myself to lose track of my physical goals, relapse to episodes of binging, and as a result I am not comfortable in this body physically or mentally. Last year if you asked me to skip the gym I’d laugh and continue on towards my goals. Today I realized I hadn’t worked out in over a week. In result, I’ve found myself more anxious, overwhelmed and unhappy with my work life, relationships with others, and the relationship I have with myself. Fitness and nutrition play such a key role in so many aspects of life, NOT just physical fitness/appearance. I’m happy I realized this. Time to break through. 💪🏻 #selfcare#selflove#nutrition#personaldevelopment#onlinehealthcoach#nobodyisperfect
hi flowers, I got such positive responses in October when I started sharing stuff about ADHD, so I’m bringing it back! 🧠✨
Recently I have been reflecting on all the years I have been living with this disorder...I’ve struggled with it all through elementary school, and was diagnosed at 15. All of my memories involve some sort of pain or frustration. Milestones, achievements and self esteem never came easy. I have never felt good about myself. I never felt normal. I always felt broken and inadequate and destined for failure, destined for a life of co-dependency. 😔
There are many days where that fear is strong. But I have come a very long way. I want to start seeing ADHD as my superpower, as my gift, as my unique ABILITY, as opposed to disability. I have been researching ways to manage my symptoms aside from just taking my medication. I am going to be changing my diet, taking steps to become more organized and motivated, exercising more and getting back into daily yoga/meditation. My brain works differently than other people, but it doesn’t mean it’s broken. I am passionate and curious and bubbly and driven and intelligent and energetic and creative. I can harness these gifts while increasing my productivity. Yes I Can. ☺️🧠💜🙌🏼
