• Banana & Cinnamon Porridge
Cinnamon is a great herb to be added to meals such as porridge. Cinnamon acts as a digestive aid - helping to stimulate your digestive enzymes to prepare for digestion; in hand this helps with symptoms of bloating, indigestion, flatulence etc. Cinnamon is also fantastic when added to breakfast’s; after our bodies have fasted overnight - as it prepares our digestive response. Cinnamon also acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory which is great for our health (diseases and acute infections cause an inflammatory response, we can use anti-inflammatory’s to decrease this effect). Recipe: - 40g of oats - 1 tablespoon of cinnamon - 200ml Almond milk - 1 banana - sweetener of choice
Method: poor mylk into a saucepan over low heat. Add oats, cinnamon, chopped banana and your choice of sweetener (I use dates). Mix and when the oats absorb the milk it’s ready to be served. I use chia seeds, banana and extra cinnamon as toppings 😋🍌
